- Get a better mouse
If you have a cord mouse still then you are surely missing out on the wonderful laser mouse that's out there already. Go to your local Best Buy or Circuit City and check them out. They are not expensive at all and they can make your computer so much better in very little time. The installation of a new mouse takes less than 10 minutes; all you need to do is install the driver and then connect the mouse.,
- Download Skype
If you don't know what Skype is or if you do but you just don't have it installed then go ahead and install it now, because it can bring great things to you and your computer. Skype is basically a online phone but you don't have a number to it, you have a screen name. You can call or receive calls from all your Skype buddies and you can also receive voice mail and record conversations if you download some plug-ins. You also have the ability to send SMS messages and make/receive regular phone calls for a very low price.
- Join a games site
If you're not already a member of a gaming site then your computer is probably not much fun for you. Join Yahoo games, MSN games, Games.com, Pogo.com, and even a paid-to-play site like MyPointsGames.com. These are all great gaming sites that you will enjoy possibly for hours and you even have the ability to play with other players, download the games for off line use, and to get a free membership.
- Download Google Tool bar
If you don't already have this installed in your internet browser then go ahead and head over to Google.com and type in "Google Toolbar". This will bring up results and you will see where you can download this great tool that will maximize your computers productivity while you're online. Once you have this tool bar you will never have to visit the Google home page because you will be able to search by just typing in what you're looking for in the tool bar search box. This also comes with other buttons that will enable you to get what you want quicker. This is a great freebie!
- Rip your music to your computer
The way to make your computer what you want it is to put into it just what you like. If you're really into music then ripping your CD's into your computer or transferring all of your MP3 music files to your computer is what you should do. This is not hard to do at all and you don't need a burner for this. Just go ahead and get into "Windows Media Player" and if you have one of the latest versions you will have the option to "Rip Music". Just insert your favorite CD's, let them quickly copy themselves into your media player and then you'll have them on your computer to listen to whenever you want.
