5 Web Sites that Pay Cash for Videos

Extra Money Can Be Yours

Dave Ickes
You have a good eye for photography. You've taken lots of photos in years past and now you're into videos. You enjoy making videos and sharing them with your friends. You have been told, and you agree, that your videos are better than the ones on the TV show "America's Funniest Videos". Did you know there are several places on the Internet that will pay you for your videos? Here are five.

Site one: Since you're reading this, you already know that Associated Content (http://www.associatedcontent.com/) pays you for videos you submit. The details for the video are listed on the home page. Basically you need to output the video clip to a web file and keep it under 15 MB. Have a look at all the details here (http://www.associatedcontent.com/faq.html#G1)

Site two: Revver (http://one.revver.com/revver) is your second option. They say that they will support the free and unlimited sharing of media. They use a revenue sharing model for paying you. Once you've uploaded your video to their website, they pair your video with a targeted advertisement. Revver will share the ad revenue with you 50/50. Even if you do not create any videos, you can share other people's creations. Revver will pay you 20% of the revenue for just sharing any video with your friends. They also offer what they call Revver's API. It's a program with all the tools needed to create your own video portal with user accounts. Check this page for details. (http://one.revver.com/go/about)

Site three: Metacafe (http://www.metacafe.com/) is your third choice. They are looking for entertaining videos. They say, "If your video has what it takes to entertain people, we want to license it and pay you for every view. Every time someone watches your video on Metacafe, you earn money." They will pay you $5 for every 1,000 views of your video. The payouts start after the first 20,000 views and a 3.0 or higher viewer rating. The top earner is Reel Stunts at $26,488 (www.metacafe.com/producer_rewards_videos/). I believe this is total and not yearly.

Site four: Flixya (www.flixya.com/) is choice four. Their payment plan is a little different. They offer both a revenue sharing model like Revver and a rewards system. You will need an Google Adsense account to be paid. They also split the ad revenue 50/50. You can also get 15 points for each person you refer to the site. Points can be redeemed for prizes (www.flixya.com/faq).

Site five: Break (www.break.com/) is your last choice. I saved the best for last $400 for an original video, $2000 for an original feature film, $25 for a photograph, $50 for Girl of the Day, and $500 for Girl of the Month. Yeah, there's a catch. Your videos must appear on the homepage and your photograph must appear in the gallery. But just think if you're lucky enough or good enough to produce the video that makes the homepage! Check out the Payment details (http://info.break.com/static/v2/pages/getpaid.html).

I believe there may be other sites that pay for video. With the everchanging Internet, there may also be new sites coming online that will pay you for your videos. I heard a rumor that YouTube.com may be offering payment in the future. It's worth doing some researach to find out. Good Luck.
