5 Weird Inventions

Inventors Gone Wild

Kelly Spies
Some inventions serve the better good of man while others make you wonder what the inventor was smoking. Anyone with an idea can get in on the invention game and patent a product but not everyone should. Here's a list of wacky, weird inventions that should have been left on the drawing board.

The Snot Vacuum - Disgusting is what this is. It's bad enough to have to suck the snot out of a baby's nose with that blue bulb thingy but I can't imagine plugging in the snot vacuum to clear out my 14 year old daughter's sinuses.

The Wiva-Vac Nasal Aspirator, now called the Baby Vac was designed to help suck all the snot out of your nose so that you don't have to use tissue. It looks strong enough to suck your brains out. The Egyptians would have loved this idea. This invention has spurred many questions on the internet such as, "is it safe to suck the snot out of my nose with my Eureka vacuum cleaner?"

The Head Bath Cap - Here's another useless and ridiculous invention. The head bath cap is a missile shaped cap that's intended to let water build up around your head so that your head can take a bath.

Giving your head a bath as opposed to a shower must be a request in high demand. Why else would anyone come up with this idea? I don't see what's wrong with just dunking your head in a tub of water but that's just me. Maybe I'm not techno savvy enough.

The head bath cap has a hole in the top so you can fill it up with water. The great thing about this product is that is claims to make your hair grow faster and healthier. I'm all for inventions that make my hair grow but I'm not willing to pay money for this thing.

Dusting Slippers - When I first saw these I thought they were interesting and considered buying a pair. Dusting slippers have a duster on the soles that pick up pet hair, dirt and lint from the floor while you walk.

There is one major problem with the design as far as I can tell. What happens to the dirt that gets stuck to the bottom while you are walking around? Does it fall off somewhere down the hallway? Is it forever matted into the fibers? I'm not sure but I have a feeling that as soon as you step elsewhere the dirt that was previously collected is wiped off back onto the floor. You'll have done all that dusting, uh walking, for nothing.

The ButlerBath Set - Is just plain creepy. The butler bath set is a toilet seat cover and rug. Doesn't sound odd however what I haven't told you yet is that the toilet seat cover is the butler's head and face and the rug is the rest of his body. I did say creepy didn't I?

Synthetic Human Skin Laptop Bags - My more twisted side loves this idea. What better way to gross people out than to be able to say, "yea my laptop bag is human skin."

Can you imagine the horrified looks of strangers who wished they wouldn't have asked if that was alligator skin or not? Can you imagine the horrified look on your partner's face when you tell them you spent $600 dollars on it?

I'm sure glad I'm not married to an inventor. I'd hate to be the one to test out these inventions.

Awww, man! I had all these prototypes built in my garage and now I discover someone's already invented them. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Freaky and fun article. You rock!

I used to to patent searches and would be entertained for hours with the weird and wacky inventions. Your list beats nearly everything I discovered - except for the centrifugal birthing bed. Great article!

I've already got dusting slippers--my grandkids in their stocking feet! The synthetic human skin thing has got to be the weirdest thing I've ever heard of.
