5 Worst Video Games of 2010

Hey There Are a Lot of Games Out There, but Some Are Just Plain Disappointing...

J G Hodnette
Buying a video game is a bit of a gamble, since there are so many that get a chance to be released nowadays and you aren't always sure which ones are worth your hard-earned money unless you do your proper research. These games should immediately go on your do-not-ever-touch list for future reference. These 2010 video games are so poor and unpopular that only a few consider them worth the money, even from a discount bin.

Blooms

This puzzle game for Nintendo Wii, you use the Wiimote to throw darts at balloons to solve the puzzle and earn points. You avoid hitting certain traps that take away points and as the levels progress the puzzles get harder and harder. There is nothing inherently wrong with puzzle games, but unfortunately they tend to get negative press unless there is something surprising in them. This game received a score of 21/100 on metascore.com because the learning curve was too difficult and made the game frustrating.

Robin Hood: The Return of Richard

In this shooter game for the Nintendo Wii, you play as robin hood using your archery skills in Sherwood Forest. This game received a very low score of 26/100 on metascore.com because of its repetitive gameplay and overall disappointing performance. Reviewers said that this game was so bad and had such absurd music that it brought tears of laughter into their eyes--perhaps a good choice if you're looking for a laugh.

Kick Ass

This title for Playstation 3 was a movie-tie in game to the film of the same name. Critics gave it a 33/100 on metascore.com because of repetitive gameplay, shameless unoriginality, and a movie-cloned plot. This game has nothing that you haven't seen a million times in other titles--and often much better. "The only asses that should be kicked are the developers' for making such rubbish," one critic comments.

5 Arcade Game

This video game for the Nintendo Wii lets you and up to three friends play one of their 5 arcade style video games. These games are much in the same fashion as any of the other Wii party game titles, except a bit more disappointing. Critics gave it a 30/100 on metacritic. It simply isn't worth the money, they said.

Wipeout: The Ultimate Redball Challenge

This title for the Nintendo Wii is a gameshow brought into game form. These types of game are infamous for having troubles and this one is no exception. Critics on metascore gave it a 34/100 for bad graphics, bad sound, and horrible controls. This game has very little going for it, but if you're a huge fan of the show then maybe you will still want to consider it.
