Kelli Stowe
Being a parent is no easy task and normally there are not enough hours in the day to do all that needs to be done. So sit back, take off your shoes or run around the house and clean up the other messes which ever you may prefer, snack time will never be the same again with these 5 yummy no-mess snacks that your child or children will love to eat.

WARNING: If your child has a allergic reaction of any kind take him or her to the doctor so that the rash can be treated and the information can be recorded in the child's medical files.

Fresh Fruit:
Fresh fruit is a no-mes snack that is very nutritious especially if you leave the peel on but if you decide to do this be cautious because a young child could choke on the peeling.

Wash and cut your choice of fruit into bite size pieces and store in the refrigerator in plastic air tight containers or in zip lock baggies.

Suggestions:
When shopping for fruit make sure that it is ripe and not over ripe. If you give your child fruit that is not ripe it could make their stomach hurt and cause diarrhea.

Many children have reactions to strawberries so be cautious when giving a child strawberries for the first time.

Apples (any variety)
Peaches
Pears
Nectarines
Plums
Pineapple
Kiwi
Grapes (any variety)
Strawberries
Watermelon
Cantaloupe
Honeydew Melon

Fresh Vegetables:
Fresh vegetables are a no-mes snack that is very nutritious and are enriched with vitamins.

Wash and cut your choice of vegetables into stick pieces or bite size pieces and store in the refrigerator in plastic air tight containers or zip lock baggies. If serving cauliflower or broccoli break bite size floweretts off and trim. Potatoes can be cut in bite size pieces but to keep them from turning brown once they are peeled they should be placed in a container with water covering them.

Suggestions:
Carrots
Celery
Cucumbers
Potatoes
Cauliflower
Broccoli
Olives

Cute Butterfly Sandwiches
I used to make these no-mess snacks for my children and they loved them and they are so easy too.

What You Will Need
Bread
Whatever kind of meat, cheeses and veggies your children likes
Carrot sticks or celery sticks
Vegetable peeler
Black or green olives

Suggestions For Sandwich Filling
Tuna salad
Egg salad
Peanut butter and jelly

For The Wings
Make a sandwich with whatever kind of meat, cheeses and veggies your children likes, cut it in half from corner to corner and then again, you should have four triangles. Take two triangles, mini sandwiches and put them in the center of a plate with the crust side facing away from the middle of the plate and points almost together.

For The Body
You can use a carrot stick or a celery stick but before you put the body between the wings take a vegetable peeler and peel two little curly pieces for the butterfly's antennas from the carrot stick or the celery stick, take the body and place a black or green olive on one end of the veggie stick which will be his head, poke the antennas where they should go and place the butterfly's body between the wings.

They are so cute and the children will love them. They can be served as a party snack or quick lunch as well.

English Muffin Pizzas
These are another no-mess snack that my children loved when they were little and still do now and they are grown. They are easy to make and are very good.

What You will Need
English Muffins
Pizza or spaghetti sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Your choice of toppings

Suggestions For Toppings
Sliced Pepperonis
Italian Sausage fried and drained
Cubed Ham
Ground Beef fried and drained
Chunk Pineapple
Chopped Onions
Sliced Olives
Cubed Green, Red and Yellow Peppers

Place English muffins on a cookie sheet, spoon on sauce, add toppings, sprinkle with cheese and place in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 10 to 15 minutes checking from time to time to see if the cheese is melted and the English muffin is golden brown. Let cool before serving. Cut into fourths for little fingers if desired. These English muffin pizzas can be served as a quick lunch as well.

Pigs In A Blanket
These are a great no-mess snack that are quick and easy to make with very little ingredients.

What You Will Need
Little Party Sausages or Frankfurters, Wieners or Hot Dogs as we call them
Refrigerated Croissant Roll or Biscuit Dough
Melted butter or Margarine

If using little party sausages you will need to cut the croissant roll dough in smaller strips. Brush the croissant roll dough lightly with melted butted or margarine, place the little party sausage or frankfurter, wiener or hot dog at the beginning of the strip or triangle and roll to cover it as you would make a croissant roll but with a yummy surprise inside and bake as directed on the packaging of the croissant roll dough.

If using biscuit dough roll out flat and long with a well floured rolling pin or wine bottle, lightly brush the biscuit dough with melted butted or margarine, cut in strips and roll the dough around the little party sausages or frankfurters, wieners or hot dogs and bake as directed on the packaging of the biscuit dough.

Let cool before serving. These also can be served as a party snack or quick lunch.

These no-mess snacks are also great for tailgate parties, picnics, traveling, movie and game night at home. Not only children love them adults do too.

Enjoy!
