50 Cent Apologizes to Vivica Fox, Invites Her to Be in His Video

50 Cent and Vivica Fox Confirm Friendship on Tyra Banks and Mo'Nique Talk Shows

On Thurs., Dec. 31, BET aired "The Mo'Nique Show" with Vivica A. Fox talking about how she was selected for rapper 50 Cent's new video, "Do You Think About Me?" Anybody who was interested in 50 Cent still remembers the rapper shouting Vivica Fox out in the crowd for wearing a particularly sexy dress on the 2003 "BET Awards." Rumors quickly spread. Photographs were snapped. Magazine cover shots went to print.

And then suddenly 50 Cent rhymed on "Get in My Car":

Commitment from me, uh nah not likely
When I was with Vivica, I thought I was onto somethin'
But then the next week, nah, man it was nothin'

We really didn't know how long the two dated or whether it was a fly-by-night thing. Entertainment fans heard the rumors about her stalking his house and 50 was embarrassing the hell out of her name.

But recently on "The Mo'Nique Show," Vivica A. Fox shed a few tears talking about how 50 Cent reached out to her for his new video.

"We went out too fast," Fox explained. "We were so excited about one another...and we wanted to scream to the top of the mountains 'I'm in love.'"

She went on to say "people got in his ear," which was apparently one of the reasons the two broke up. She told Mo'Nique about how hard it was to deal with the rumors and backlash after the breakup, mainly due to 50 Cent's antics.

But after shedding a few tears, she joked about the way he reached out to her. According to Fox, "I got this surprise call and said 'I need you.' And I said, 'I know you do.'"

As soon as Vivica A. Fox said that, I immediately tensed up because I was wondering whether 50 Cent was going to make fun of her crying on television the way he did with Young Buck. 50 Cent hadn't said a word about Vivica Fox when he was recently on "Lopez Tonight" with George Lopez, but Lopez didn't ask him about the new video and instead chose to talk about 50's new cologne, Power by 50.

However, to my surprise, 50 Cent manned up on "The Tyra Banks Show" and confirmed Fox's confession. On "The Tyra Banks Show," 50 Cent said he'd been dating Vivica Fox for a year--not a week, as the lyrics to "Get in My Car" say. He admitted that he called her and said, "You've got to stop fighting me and be in my video. She was surprised that I actually reached out."

What viewers found out on "The Tyra Banks Show" that we didn't know about on "The Mo'Nique Show" was that they'd been going out for so long, and what we saw as a breakup feud between the two came at the end of the relationship, not at the beginning.

While some may say that conversation was private and shouldn't have been done on either show, I disagree. Because both 50 Cent and Vivica Fox had such a public breakup, due in large part to 50 Cent letting the media know he was interested in her at the BET Awards and being just as public about them breaking up, why not let both of them tell their sides of the story?

And at the end of it all, the same one who cut up during the relationship was the one who put his tail between his legs and apologized. As much of a bully that 50 Cent is to other people, it's nice to see he does have a heart.

Hey Shaun, good to hear from you and happy (belated) new year. Why is this "soo something I'd write"? :-) Thanks for the compliment on the read.

Wisdom Supreme, "savvy business scheme"? I can't see this being a scheme considering Vivica Fox also went on "The Mo'Nique Show" and in tears talked about him apologizing. Fifty isn't known for apologizing. Did you not see how quickly he retreated from The Game after that fake apology?

I remember hearing about this awhile ago, and while I still haven't seen the video it is surprising that 50 would reach out to Vivica! But then again, what better way to grab attention and controversy then to have your ex gilrfriend who you are supposed to be at odds with show up in your latest video! perfect marketing ploy to get people talking about your product and video, which is exactly what we're doing! So in reality it shouldn't surprise me at all, another savvy business scheme by Curtis Jackson lol! good job Shamontiel!

Thanks for the recap. That reminds me to look up the video. I agree about them sharing this with the public. Why only share the bad? Let people know when something good happens, too. His public admission sounds like it was touching, since he's supposed to be a "thug" and all. I do respect him as a businessman. He gets props for how he built an empire, not off of music, but Vitamin Water, cologne and more. Only fools think it's typical to become wealthy solely by being a rapper.
