Portland, Oregon
- There has been some earthquake activity off the coast of Oregon over the last few days, many of which have been above Magnitude 4.0.

Although there is currently no cause for concern to inland Cities in Oregon, scientists are keeping a close eye on the plates 427 km (265 miles) West North West of Coos Bay, Oregon. No damage has been reported and no accidents at sea have occurred due to large waves from the earthquakes.

There have been no reports of any ground shaking inland or at property on the coast, but this mini-swarm of quakes are showing slightly higher Magnitudes than other recent earthquakes off the coast of Oregon.

Recent seismic activity along the Pacific Fault Lines has been escalated since the earthquake in New Zealand, but it is not unusual for the Pacific faults to show increases in quakes after large earthquakes in the region.

There is no current danger to any inland locations and no Tsunami's have been reported, although there is the possibility of some oceanic swell occurring.

Monitoring is continuing but it said to be of no major concern - the plates off the coast of Oregon show signs of higher seismic activity quite often. This is the same as the plates off the coast of California, that have also seen some increase in small tremors recently.

Earthquake monitoring website www.earthquake.usgs.gov shows the following data for the latest M5.0 tremor:
