500,323 Page Views. What a Lovely Figure

For around 14 years now I have been a freelance writer. I am sure many of you remember themestream, who paid us amazing money for a very short period of time, and then went bust, leaving us without the $1,000 or more dollars we thought we were getting.

Then came Judy's book, and several others. Many paid well, or gave us gift cards, at the beginning. We stopped writing when these ceased.

I have been writing for Epinions for 11 years now, and with them also, the money was low to begin with, but the more you put in, the more you get out of it.

Associated content seemed a dream come true when I first started writing for them. The up-front payments were so much higher then, but I guess we are lucky to still get them.

The fun thing was watching my status going up with the numbers. When each one was achieved, that seemed a huge milestone.

After getting to the magical number 10, I really didn't take a lot of notice of my stats. Of course I watched my graph daily, and checked how much money I had made.

Then yesterday when I logged in I saw that my numbers had gone over the half million. To many of my friends that write several articles a day, this isn't a big figure, but as I only write 4 or 5 articles a week, I am over the moon with it.

When I retire in two years time, even if the up-front payments get even smaller, I know that I will be getting a monthly amount of money. It will never be much, but if it pays a bill, it is one less to worry about.
