50th Anniversary of the Lego Brand

Legos are one the most memorable play things that a child can have. Many great memories can and have been shaped by the creative construction of a Lego play set. This is an ideal choice for a parent to deliver to their child in their early years to help them develop their artistic mind. From video games to large sculptures, the influence of those tiny Lego blocks can be seen in a myriad of forms. It is the 50^th anniversary of the Lego toy brand and the hot brand has a lot to celebrate.

I have a lot of fond memories of Lego toy sets. I was so protective and precise that at around the age of two years old, I could tell when someone attempted to switch my pieces with their sets. One of my fondest memories is seeing the world trade center for the first time at the age of five. I was so amazed by the size of these dual structures that replicating them was the first order of business when I arrived home that day. Using two tubs of Lego pieces, I constructed a fairly accurate model of the twin towers to the best of my abilities.

The Lego brand has many different sets for kids and parents to choose from. One of the most popular is the Bionocle set. This complex set of action figures are host to an intricate fantasy storyline that children, with the help of their friends and peers, can take part of. There are many different models under the Bionicle line so that you can choose from a number of different characters to become you avatar in its universe. The different colors of the characters align them with different elements. With movies, comic books, and web groups, the Bionicle toy line is a must have for youngsters.

Any fan of the Star Wars movies would have a great time with the Star wars line of Lego toys. Another one of my favorite sets, these crafty little figures replicate the characters vehicles from the movie with amazing accuracy. Whether you're recreating space battles or setting up scenes to try and save the princess, this is another set that is sure to keep the little ones happy. There are even video games to help further dive into the realm of the Star Wars universe through a Lego perspective. This is definitely one of the most popular of the sets.

Another one of my favorite sets is the sports soccer set. With a replicated soccer field, the game feels almost as real as playing soccer. There are three different field sets to choose from; the most basic being just a penalty kicking set and the most advanced being a highly developed play field. Lego has paved the way for many enthusiasts to ride the Lego wave. It is my belief that I have an extreme artistic interest today because of the imaginative action of using a Lego set. Many people have used Lego blocks to create astounding artwork. Walt Disney World, for example, has a large dragon made completely out of Lego blocks. The Toys R' Us in Times Square also as a large structure but instead it is of a skyscraper. Lego is a company that we exciting children for many years to come.
