51st Grammy Awards Predictions

The 51st Grammy Awards are not very far away and music lovers, critics, producers, and artists all anticipate who will take home an award. There are major categories and more narrowed categories. We will more so look at the major categories here. The one thing we can look forward to is the fact that there will be some who will take home several awards, and some who won't take home any at all. Here are our predictions of who will win big at the 51st Grammy Awards.

Record Of The Year

The nominees for the Grammy Awards Record of the Year are: Chasing Pavements (Adele), Viva La Vida (Coldplay), Bleeding Love (Leona Lewis), Paper Planes (M.I.A), and Please Read The Letter (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss). The winner of this category will definitely be Viva La Vida (Coldplay). This is just giving credit where it is due. Viva La Vida is a great record.

Album Of The Year

The nominees for the 51st Grammy Awards Album of the Year are: Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends (Coldplay), Tha Carter III (Lil Wayne), Year Of The Gentleman (Ne-Yo), Raising Sands (Robert Plan & Alison Krauss), and In Rainbows (Radiohead). This is a category is traditionally won by rock and pop artists, so the logical choice would be to choose the Coldplay album, but at the 51st Grammy Awards this category will be won by rap album Tha Carter III (Lil Wayne).

Song Of The Year

Song of the year Grammy Awards nominees are: American Boy (Estelle Featuring Kanye West), Chasing Pavements (Adele), I'm Yours (Jason Mraz), Love Song (Sara Bareilles), and Viva La Vida (Coldplay). The song American Boy has some potential in this category, but the Grammy Awards shows have been known for artists going home with multiple awards. So this will be a second award winning for Coldplay's Viva La Vida, which could still win in other categories.

Best New Artist

The Best New Artist award is slightly more controversial than the previously mentioned categories because the competition is a little more even. The nominees for the 51st Grammy Awards Best New Artist category are: Adele, Duffy, Jonas Brothers, Lady Antebellum, and Jazmine Sullivan. Thinking of how much the Jonas Brothers have done just in this past year, the temptation is to give this category to them, but the winner of this award will be Adele. Adele has a Nomination for Record of the Year and the song Chasing Pavements has a nomination for Song of the Year, so just off of the stigmatizm of not winning in either of those categories alone will get Adele this award.

These are the major categories and their predicted winners of those nominated at the 51st Grammy Awards. Record of the year will be Coldplay's Viva La Vida, Album of the year will be Lil Wayne's The Carter III, Song of the Year will be Viva La Vida for a second award, and the Best New Artist will be awarded to Adele. In other more narrowed categories we will see some first time winners as well as some artists winning their second and possibly third Grammy Awards. As usual, we should expect the Grammy Awards to be a beautiful ceremony, where many artists gather to celebrate the very best in all music.
