1) View Account
Online banking allows consumers to view their account anytime they feel like looking at their account. Customers can see their balances, their transactions and other important information on their account. Consumers can hear this information over the phone. However, viewing it on a computer screen gives consumers a visual. It is faster and easier. No worries about an automated voice, which may not recognize your request, or worries of having to repeat information several times, since one can see the information.
2) Transferring Money
Online banking makes it easier for customers to transfer funds between accounts. This is great for consumers who have checking, savings and credit card accounts. Customers can simply transfer funds online with a couple of clicks.
3) Online Bill Paying
Online banking makes it easy to pay bills online. Customers can set up utility bills, credit card bills and other bills to be paid online. Consumers can monitor these payments and make adjustments with online convenience. I pay several bills online, and it is very convenient. Late payments are eliminated. I do not have to worry about finding a stamp or a check. Also, the worry of when the check will arrive and when it will process is all eliminated by doing it online. It is a wonderful way to eliminate some monthly stress from my life.
4) Online Banking Saves Trips to the Bank
Any transaction a consumer can do online is one less trip they have to make to the bank. The customer does not have to go to a brick and mortar bank or an ATM if they can do the transaction online. This can save the customer gas money and ATM fees, and it provides them with a quicker transaction than a trip to the bank would.
5) Online Banking Is Green
Online banking can eliminate the need for envelopes and checks. Consumers can choose not to receive paper statements with some institutions. Reducing the paper products does make online banking green, and it does reduce costs. Online banking is a classic win-win situation. The bank saves money for not having to use as much paper. Consumers save money for not having to buy envelopes and stamps.
6) Online Banking Reduces Banking Costs
Often, banks present online banking with wonderful incentives. The reason is simple: online banking reduces their costs. More transactions handled online means less handled at the bank. Banks do not have to staff their offices with as many tellers. Banks save money on staffing in addition to the savings mentioned previously about lower paper costs. Online banking also improves service in the bank. Fewer transactions being done in a bank can equal fewer lines and quicker service. The bank's savings could be passed down to customers.
