If you have a green thumb, it may help you save a lot of money. You can bring some vegetables seeds back to home and plant them in your backyard, garden or balcony. For example, you can plant some green onions on your balcony. Green onion is very essential to most of our recipes, but it takes only a little space and some water each day.

For making the vegetables stronger, you just have to bury the eggshells or pour the expired milk to nourish the soil.

Tip#2 Use your old stuff to do exchanges with your friends or relatives.
You can organize some exchange parties at home. You can invite your friends or relatives to this party and ask them to bring some used items that they don't like or use any more. However, the pieces which don't interest them any more, may still interest you.

With your unwanted clothes, you may get some interesting pieces from your friends. In this way, you can effectively save on your clothes expenses budget. Meanwhile, you don't have to worry about the sources of these second-hand clothes. Besides building a whole new wardrobe without spending money, you can also enjoy a fun evening with your friends.

Tip#3 Share the cooking and prepared food with your friends.
You and your buddies, each of you can cook certain food at home in large quantities, divide them into small portions and share them with others. In this way, everyone can get a portion of a dish prepared by others. It allows you to diversify your meals and save money from buying cooking materials in bigger quantities but at lower price.

Tip#4 Don't waste the leftover food.

For example, you may keep the leftover bread in the freezer and use it later for making pudding; you may keep the trunk of the broccoli for making delicious cream; when the bananas start to turn rotten, put them in the freezer and use them later for making banana bread. In fact, the rotten banana is a good source for making tasty banana bread.

Tip#5 Make a grocery list before you go shopping.

Each week, before you go shopping, you should always write a grocery list and note down the items you really need for that week.

During shopping, you should stick to the grocery list and avoid making any unnecessary impulse purchase.

Tip#6 Drive your own car less.

If the grocery shop is not far away from home, you should go there on foot; if there is a bus station near your office, you should take bus for going to work. In these ways, you may save a lot on buying gasoline and contribute your effort to protect our environment.
