Money saving tip #1: Everybody needs a goal, so why not make it your wallpaper! Find a picture on Google Images of the item you desperately need/want and make it you computers wallpaper. Every time you open up your computer to check your email, make a to-do list, even shop online you'll be reminded that you need to save money not spend it.
Money saving tip #2: It's easy to go off and buy something on a whim but the smarter thing to do is wait. Think it over then sleep on it, whatever you want will still be there in the morning.
Money saving tip #3: Check for sales. It's most likely that whatever you want can be purchased online for less at sites like eBay, Amazon, or Craigslist. While eBay's probably the cheapest, the rush of bidding can sometimes get to you and make you spend even more. If your one of those people that gets caught up in the excitement of bidding, I'd highly suggest sticking with Amazon and Craigslist. Also, check buy.com. It searches the whole Internet for you for the cheapest price.
Money saving tip #4: With each out of the blue purchase, make sure to keep the receipt. You never know when you're going to want to return something so keep all your receipts is some sort of filing cabinet.
Money saving tip #5: Whether you make money at a job or you get allowance, make sure to set a certain amount aside each month. Before you know it, you'll have enough to buy that dream bike, car, etc.
Money saving tip #6: Look into more rewarding credit cards. Some cards give you airline miles, others gift cards. My personal favorite is the card that rounds your purchase up to the nearest whole dollar, and then sends the change to your savings account. (Of all the easy ways to save money this is by far the easiest).
