Best Video Game Guest Appearances

Lisa Mason

Gamers enjoy seeing some of their favorite celebrities or video game characters making a guest appearance in another video game they like to play. It adds interest to the games and it makes playing them even more enjoyable. Video game companies have included cameos/guest appearances by crossing characters from one game to another or using movie stars and other celebrities as a form of marketing strategies or just for the pure fun of it for years and it's still a popular trend today.

Here are some of the best video game cameos/guest appearances developers have integrated into their games over the last few years.

The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time features Mario and Luigi

In The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, Mario (Talon) is the owner of the Lon Lon Ranch and Luigi (Ingo) is his ranch hand. These two well-known brothers make an appearance in several other Zelda video games too.

Space Channel 5 features Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson made an appearance in Space Channel 5 when he asked to be part of the game after viewing an incomplete version of Space Channel 5. Apparently, Michael was a big fan of SEGA and video games and his cameo ended up being an important character in this video game.

Fighting Vipers features Pepsiman

Pepsiman is Japan's mascot for Pepsi and he grows ten times his normal size and fights off monsters to help keep Japan safe in the Fighting Vipers video game. It's interesting to watch him fight all dressed up in his silver and red suit that looks very much like a Pepsi can.

Punch-Out!! Wii features Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong was one of the first video games to make an impression on gamers and it helped to get video games off to a great start. If you look close in the latest Punch-Out!! Wii game, you'll see Donkey Kong making an appearance in the corner where there is a huge crowd of people gathered together.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 features Spider-Man

Everyone is familiar with Spider-man. After all, he is a hero and he apparently loves to skate in his free time as you'll see in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 video game. He showed off some pretty awesome moves as he made his guest appearance in the game and it's something that any Spider-Man fan will want to see but you have to know how to unlock it.

Soul Calibur 4 features Yoda and Darth Vader

With Star Wars being one of the biggest movies of all time, you expect to hear a lot about two of the movie's most famous characters Yoda and Darth Vader but did you ever expect to see them in the video game Soul Caliber 4? The Jedi Master and Vader are playable characters in the latest Soul Calibur video game and they make a great addition to the game. You will have to unlock them, too though.
