6 Fun Things to Do with Your Children at Christmas Time
Christmas Decorating and Christmas Caroling All While Keeping the Christmas Spirit
1. Getting a family into the Christmas spirit can start with Christmas decorating. Simply come up with a list of all the decorating ideas for your house. Make sure you sit down as a family and include your children in developing this list. As you're developing this Christmas decorating list, put some Christmas music on. This is sure to get the family in the Christmas spirit. Some things that you can add to your Christmas decorating list are; put up a Christmas tree and decorate, decorate the interior of your home by adding garland to the banisters and placing various Christmas items in each room and decorating the exterior of the home.
2. Complete all the Christmas decorating items on your list. Have the children get involved with placing all the various Christmas items in each room. Make sure your
children are involved in placing all the ornaments and decorations on the Christmas tree. Don't forget to keep that Christmas music playing!
3. Plan a night when you can make Christmas sugar cookies with your children. Children love this type of activity. Make your cookies in various Christmas designs and have the children help you decorate each one, they will love this. Don't forget to break out the Egg Nog for everyone to enjoy!
4. Pick a day to build a snowman. Have the children select all kinds of creative items to dress their snowman. Take a few breaks while building the snowman and have the children come into the house for hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.
5. Make your own Christmas stockings. By some red and white cloth and have the children help you make Christmas stockings for the whole family. Allow your children to become very creative in the decorating of each stocking. Don't forget the family dog!
6. Take your children Christmas Caroling. They will like this activity. Print the lyrics to 5 to 10 Christmas songs on a piece of paper for each of your children and their. You can take along a thermos of hot chocolate and also some of those Christmas cookies you made as a family. Take a few breaks and enjoy these special Christmas treats.
