6 Great Ways to Use Olive Oil

Substitute 6 Commonly Used Bath Items with Olive Oil

We all have been there some time or other, ran out of a commonly used item. What do you do when your family runs out of an item that you use a lot? In our house we substitute a lot, yes, a lot. With 5 of us using bathroom items it seems we run out of at least one item before shopping day. The good thing is we get creative about substituting other items that work great.

Follow along and maybe you can substitute next time you run out of an item. First of all we have used these and they all work great. Nothing is like the real thing but nobody complains if they do have to substitute. The following are all bathroom items that we have run out of and used olive oil in place of before.

This one is my favorite. I have used olive oil in place of shaving cream. Just rub the olive oil over your legs or face and shave as if you are using shaving cream. I find my legs feeling smooth and soft after I use olive oil, maybe it is a good thing that we run out of shaving cream. You'll have silky smooth legs with olive oil.

Hair conditioner can greatly be replaced with olive oil. It works as well as conditioner and leaves your hair tangle free. I was scared to do this at first but my friend actually uses it all the time since she has very dry hair. The one question on your mind might be "Does it leave your hair greasy?" and the answer is "No" it does not. Your hair will have a shiny luster.

If your skin is dry over the winter months all you have to do is add a few tablespoons to your bath water. Before you know it your skin will feel smooth and less dry. Be careful the bathtub may be quite slippy after you are done.

My son has OCD and washes his hands continuously. His hands are always dry and cracked. I've tried many types of hand creams but nothing seems to work. I rubbed olive oil on his hands and placed socks over them for him to sleep with. I couldn't believe how well they looked in the morning. We use olive oil on his hands at least 4 times a week to keep them from cracking and getting sore.

Olive oil makes a great make up remover. Yes just add a little to a cotton ball and remove makeup like the expensive make up removers. Olive oil not only removes the make up it also adds moisture to your face which will keep your face from drying out.

The last olive oil use I have for the bathroom is on your finger nails. Yes, olive oil can be used for a manicure. All you have to do is add olive oil to water and soak your hands. The cuticles around your nails will soften up.

I hope that you find olive oil as useful in your house as we do in ours.

This is very interesting and looks like it may come in handy for us at some time.
