#1: A little bit of lemon and a little bit of honey. This is good depending on what the cause of your stomach pain is. If the cause is not acid, this remedy works wonders. My mom used to give this to us when my sisters and I were little. We would wake up in the middle of the night with an upset tummy and she would go right to the kitchen and give us this remedy.
#2: Charcoal. It will neutralize what's bothering your stomach and carry it right to the colon. Check out www.greathomeremedies.com/stomachbugs.html for information on how exactly charcoal works in the body. It's a great thing to have on hand in your house, and it comes in handy capsules nowadays that you can purchase right in the supplement section of many stores, or also in most health food stores. It's only around $10 a bottle, and it can last you for some time.
#2: Green tea. Really, tea of any kind is totally soothing for the stomach. But it is green tea, especially, that can be the most beneficial. Add a little honey to the mix, too, to aid in digestion and to up the soothing factor.
#3: Eat a light, healthy snack like a granola bar. Sometimes all that is upsetting your stomach is acid - and it just needs something to work on. www.MayoClinic.com says this on the matter: "Having an empty stomach can sometimes produce nonulcer stomach pain. Nothing but acid in your stomach may make you feel sick. Try eating a small snack, such as a cracker or a piece of fruit. Avoid skipping meals. Avoid large meals and overeating. Eat smaller meals more frequently."
#4: Ice cold water. Believe it or not, this works very well depending on the cause of your stomach troubles! Give it a try, but make sure that your water is just that - really icy.
#5: Warm milk. But only if you are not lactose-intolerant because if you try this and you have problems with milk, you are in for some trouble! Otherwise, for the rest of us, warm milk can soothe the stomach and coat it's walls really well (in other words, make it feel real good even if acid is disturbing it).
#6: Sprite. A cold (or even warm) Sprite can do wonders if it is nice and bubbly! It can induce belching, which may soothe your upset stomach.
