The festival will be touring the country all throughout August, starting in New York at the Quad Cinema on August 8th, then moving to Los Angeles and playing at the Laemmle Sunset, then finally stopping a Fort Lauderdale's Gateway Cinemas.
Associated Content's movie professionals have spent several hours looking over these movies - and while we won't spoil any of the fun - we will give you some synopsis!
If you are a fan of Asian cinema, then this one is for you. Taboo feelings and dangerous decisions abound in Bangkok Love Story, an edgy noir -like melodrama about a hired assassin who finds himself fallings for his hunky victim. Violent yet touching, this movie has been dubbed the "Thai Brokeback" by its legion of fans. Plenty of action and adventure is interspersed with romance, in a film that depicts the grim underbelly of a beautiful and dangerous city.
From Spain, Boystown (Chuecatown) is a candy-colored comedy with all the right elements: hot men, spooky but sexy bathhouses and murders! This sinister yet sassy storyline is wrapped around real estate shenanigans in a quickly gentrifying neighborhood. Ever wanted to kill someone to get that dream apartment? If so, you'll adore this dark and witty movie.
In I Dreamt Under the Water a young man's search for love fuels this incredibly graphic sexual drama. Controversial yet undeniably engaging, this French film explores the darker side to sexual roundelays. Not for the faint of heart, this film leaves you with more questions then answers.
Sparks fly when a soldier explores his same-sex desires with a free-spirited young man in the romantic drama Dog Tags. Damion Dietz's follow up to Beverly Kills has been a sell-out at festivals across the country, with a poignant look at family, love, and honor. This movie shows not only a healthy respect to gay and lesbian issues, but handles the idea of military service with honor and admiration.
In 3-Day Weekend, eight gorgeous yet troubled men bond and swap beds over a drama- filled weekend. Frisky college roommates, naked yoga instructors, uptight co-workers, and high-priced rent boys all mix together to stir up trouble. If you've spent time in a beach share, or ski weekend with the boys, you'll find this movie touches upon plenty of unspoken and classic clichés.
Finally, the documentary Wrangler: Anatomy of an Icon, tells the outrageous story of 1970's porn icon Jack Wrangler. Before Jeff Stryker and Michael Lucas, Jack Wrangler was the number one name in porn. Honest, and filled with humor, celebrity interviews, and archival footage; any gay historian or porn aficionado will find this movie enlightening and entertaining. .

Check any of these films out when they roll through New York, Fort Lauderdale, or Los Angles!
