6 Hot Video Games for the Holidays

Get Your Kid What They Really Want

Jim Kelly
We all love video games, it's a chance to let go of reality and explore a world outside our own as a soldier, an alien, or a rock star. It's living that fantasy we've always dreamed of and being able to do so over and over again at will. In 2009, there are numerous amount of games that are out and ready to be played by your teenagers this season, here is a list of the top 6 hottest video games in 2009:

6. Wolfstein

A first person shooter series about B.J. Blazkowicz and his attempt to stop Himmler, by going back to 1943, from crossing into a parallel dimension and creating a Nazi war machine. This is a long series of first person shooting games and this seems to be the best one yet. Best of all you can play in Halo style, Call of Duty type of rounds with multi players.

5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

One of the hottest games around right now and another first person shooting game. The graphics are out of this world and the game stays true to the original series with a few new toys to play with. If your kid or brother or anyone enjoys the Call of Duty series, this is a must, if you think they'll like it, it's a must.

4. The Sims 3 (PC)

The enormous franchise has not gone anywhere and look like they are here to stay. The new version of the Sims makes the old ones seem tame. A lot of people have shied away from computer games today, but the Sims is keeping that market stable.

3. Wii Sports Resort

One of the best games out there right now. It's simple, challenging, and can involve the whole family. Personally, the sword fight I think is the best game on there, but the expanded volume of games from the original Wii Sports makes this a must have.

2. The Beatles: Rock Band

Who doesn't want to be the Beatles? Even as a college student I can name you thirty Beatles songs off the top of my head without even straining a muscle. Now we get the chance to act and sing and play like the iconic rock stars from across the pond. Hell yes.

1. Guitar Hero 5

Taking the number one spot is the 5th installment of the most popular and richest video game franchises ever. With new songs and popular music included Guitar Hero 5 will be flying off the shelves this holiday season and look for everyone to be strumming the fingers and thinking red, blue, green, double yellow, while listening to the radio.
