1- You're afraid.
Fear is a sure sign that your new boyfriend is a domestic abuser. Although he may not have laid a hand on you, his mannerism - speech and movement - make you afraid. Without him saying a word, you can feel he wants to hit you.
2- He doubts you.
No matter what you do, he throws doubt your way. You're not a good enough lover. Your hair isn't quite right. You can't speak intelligently. On a regular basis, he chips away at your ego making you feel inferior.
3- He hates your family.
Another sign your new boyfriend is a domestic abuser is that he hates your family. He tries to turn you against them and keep you away from family functions. Your guy also conveniently forgets to pass on messages he takes over your phone.
4- He has a past history.
A leopard rarely changes his spots without extra help (and a court summons). Males who physically hurt women often struggle with this major flaw until death. For this reason, if your sweetheart tells you stories about how he went to jail for attacking another woman, you'll probably be next.
5- He seems too perfect.
A man who seems too good to be true probably is hiding a secret. One sign that your new boyfriend is a domestic abuser is that he falls in this category. His home is spotless, hair - in place and personality, straight out of a romantic soap opera. The only problem is that when he snaps, he goes berserk.
6- He's already hit you.
Don't accept a bunch of excuses after your boyfriend's hit you. He didn't just have a bad day. You didn't do anything to provoke him. No, it wasn't the alcohol. A man who can physically attack you won't stop unless he gets help. Then, even afterward, he still might slip back into old, bad habits.
These are six signs your new boyfriend is a domestic abuser. As you can see, they all involve some level of control mentally, emotionally and physically. Find out more about the behaviors of these types of males, by visiting HelpGuide.org.
