6 Things to Consider when Choosing a Daycare

kanelita
Like all worker mothers, after two or three months of maternity leave, I was obligated to look for a daycare for my baby. So after looking through a long list of childcare centers, I chose the one that could cover most of my expectations. (Forget about find the perfect one, because you'll prefer staying at home with your baby.)

Looking for a daycare center was a hard work, and I sometimes thought that I never would find one that pleased me. So I compiled some points to bear in mind when you are searching, from a mother's perspective.

1. - Location.

The location is the most important decision you have to take, if is more convenient that the center would be near yours house or relatives house, in case your relatives will help you in the drop- off/ pick up process; or you prefer the day care located near you work's place so you could be there right away in case of an emergency, whatever you choose will be fine.

2. -Licenses

Every childcare center should have proper license, regulation and minimal standards to run properly; so you can check them out about credibility and reliability.

3. -Cleanliness

Have to bear in mind that your kid is going to spend at least 5 to 7 hours per day at the center so this have to be clean and without mess, of course every place where there are kids could be messy, but the employees have to keep a minimal organization and cleanliness.

4. - Employees

Is very important have in mind the relationships with the kids the rapport have to be positive and polite. Keep away from center where the caregiver looks like doesn't like to be there.

5.General conditions.

The day care has to be like a second house to your kids, and the owner has to spend time and money to keep in good shape the building and furniture. There must not be any stagnant water in the playground; leaking, the books and toys have to look clean and without tears. Keep away from center where seems like nobody have take care of them.

6. - Curriculum

No matter how young your child is, always have the capacity to learn and be stimulate, therefore you have to know about the daily activities they carry out: reading, outdoors activities, visual stimulation, gross and fine motor activities, and all these have in keep with each group age. Keep away from those childcare centers where each classroom has a television because for sure they will spend most time in front of it.

Finally, my advice that while you make your tour at the center, pay attention at your sixth sense, that will help you feel more reliable every morning when you droop of your sprout in theirs hands.
