Bad breath occurs to almost every person, especially those people with poor hygiene. There are actually so many factors that contribute to bad breath. These may be because of the food that we eat. Some may be due to empty stomach. It may produce chemicals that can cause bad breath when we are hungry. Dry mouth can also lead to bad breath. The worst thing is when bad breath is caused by cavities and gum diseases. Well, these are just some factors that would result to bad breath. How are we going to resolve this? Here the possible ways to prevent bad breath.

Always keep your mouth clean.

It is necessary to keep your mouth clean. Brushing your teeth at least 3 times a day will help a lot to avoid bad breath. Flossing regularly would also keep your mouth extra clean because it gets rid of the particles hidden between your teeth and in your gum lines. The particles that are stored between the teeth and gums are most the common cause of bad breath.

When brushing, don't forget to include your tongue.

Mostly, bacteria are left on our tongue. This is also a cause of bad breath. It is important to include your tongue when you are brushing to get rid of the bacteria present in your mouth.

Prevent your mouth from drying.

Dry mouth can cause bad breath. Our saliva helps clean our mouth. It can wash away bacteria and food particles left on our mouth. If our saliva is reduced, this will probably result to staying of bacteria on our mouth. This explains the occurrence of "morning breath". To prevent your mouth from drying, it is important to drink water regularly.

Rinse your mouth after eating.

There are situations where we can't bring our toothbrush with us. When this happens, make sure to rinse your mouth after eating. This could help prevent bad breath. Swishing water all over your mouth will remove food particles left.

Eat some sweet foods.

Foods like celery, carrots, and peanuts can help fight mouth odor. These foods can also help fight plaques. Eating sweet foods can prevent bad breath.

Visit your dentist regularly

If you are still experiencing a bad breath, even if you already follow the previous tips given, it would be helpful if you would visit your dentist. Your bad breath may be due to cavities and gum diseases.
