Looking for a few simple and unique home décor projects that will transform your house into a winter wonderland without breaking the bank? Here are some simple and unique ideas for decorating for Christmas in your home. Many of these ideas are also great for a small home that does not have a lot of storage.

1. Put Ornaments in a clear glass Lamp base. This is very easy to do and if you already own one of those lamps that have the clear glass base, then you should not have to spend too much money. Make sure you take the lamp apart somewhat to see what size hole you will have to insert the Christmas ornaments into. Sometimes this can be a somewhat small opening. Don't worry though, you can find Christmas ornaments in almost any size now a days. You could also subsume green and red tumbled glass in place of the Christmas ornaments. Green or red wooden beads would also work.

2. Ornaments in Glass Jar or Votive are a great substitution if you do not have a lamp with a clear glass base. You can simple lead up a clear glass bowl or vase with lots of vintage or new Christmas ornaments. To create some height try placing your bowl of Christmas ornament son a cake plate.

3. To create a unique look that does not cost a lot of money try tying a red velvet Ribbon around a door in your home. The kids could each decorate their door this way. You could also decorate the door leading to your family room. You can buy huge rolls of that great red velvet feeling ribbon of rubout $5 at almost any arts and craft store.

4. Decorate by placing your gifts around the house or even make fake Christmas gifts. Everyone has lots of Christmas gifts at Christmas, so make them play double duty during the holiday.

5. Replace existing curtains with Christmas tablecloths. This is a fun way to add some color and warmth to any room in you house during the holiday season. You can pin ribbons to the top of the tablecloth and slip them onto the curtain rod that way. You could also buy a pack of curtain clips, clip them onto he Christmas tablecloth and then slip the caps onto the curtain rods. IN place of Christmas table clothes you could also use Christmas place mats to make a simple curtain valance. Simply lay the dinner place mats over you existing curtain rods.

You can simply take ether ribbon and lay if pattern side up across the front o the pillow, Pull it around back and then as the ribbons cross, twist them vertically. Pull them back to the front of the pillow and tie them in a great looking bow. This is such a simple and unique way to completely transform any room with a Christmas feel. This are good ideas, very simple, inexpensive, and I've never even thought of them! I especially like the idea of putting ornaments in a clear lamp base or in votives, and the pillow idea sounds adorable - but I have two little ones, it wouldn't last long :) Thanks for the ideas!
