1. I pack my lunch once a week when I go to work. Instead of getting a nice salad, pizza, or a sub I pack my lunch. A nice sandwich, chips, apple, cookie, and drink is just fine once a week.
2. This also contains to food. I usually go out to dinner 2-3 times a week with my girlfriend, and yes I know if I went just once a week I could save a $100 alone, but I try and limit myself when going out. I usually would go for a dinner that is 20-30 dollars, not It's in the range of 15-20. Also limit yourself to only one drink, and just get a soda that is free refills. You can easily cut out costs when they ask would you like something on the side.
3.Car pool. Yes you can afford to car pool YOU and your KIDS. When your kids are active you can have a regular car pool that will help you save on gas. If its going to school, soccer, gymnastics, or wherever else it is a great idea to car pool. Also when it comes to you, you can do a few things. When going to work why not take the bus a few times a week, if a co-worker lives close ride together, or have your wife/husband drop you off at your work instead of taking two cars.
4.Turn your lights out. Yes it seems so easy, but no one actually does it. When you leave a room turn off the lights. Also your computer, tv, and any big item can take up a lot of energy so turn it off at night. This will save so much over the long run.
5. Adjust your Thermostat. In the summer higher it a few degrees, and in the winter lower it a few. This will save so much. If anyone isn't at home during the day make sure in the summer to put it higher, and in the winter lower it. Every degree saves %3 of your bill remember that.
6. Make sure to inflate your tires, keep the vents clear, and get a check up. Make sure you tend to your car always. This will help with your gas bills, and altogether your bills on your car. The longer you have your car the more money you save. Get an oil change every 3,000 miles, change your anti freeze every winter, and washing your own car are all great ideas to save money.
No matter what you can save money, and eventually use it later in life. Even saving $10 a week for your whole life will add up for a great retirement. No matter what save money!!!!
