Game Background

As stated in the Author Comments section on the game's website, this Flash animation was created for the UMass Boston school website. The main character in the game has 60 seconds left until graduation and needs a better GPA.

Gameplay

The objective of 60 Seconds til Graduation is to increase and maintain a GPA of 3.5 for 60 seconds. Your virtual avatar is equipped with a propeller hat as well as a laser gun. Fly around using the WASD keys on your keyboard. Use your mouse to aim the laser gun, and click the mouse to fire the laser gun. To increase your GPA, you will need to collect high grades, the higher the better. Also, you will need to avoid bad grades. You help you avoid bad grades, you can zap the bad grades with your handy laser gun. As a bonus, if you zap more than one bad grade with one shot (at least 3 in one shot), you will earn extra credit, which will also increase your GPA. The grades will appear from the bottom and will scatter around, so be careful with your flying.

At the end of the 60 second period, you will be shown your final GPA, as well as a note as to whether or not you have successfully completed the game i.e. graduated with a GPA of at least 3.5.

At the title screen of the game, there is a Q located at the top-right hand corner of the screen. Clicking on this Q will toggle the quality of the game. Also on the title screen of the game, at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, is the play button. Clicking on this allows you to choose between two difficulty levels. You can choose either Easy or Hard.

Glitches

A few glitches are seen in this game. First of all, the 60 second timer seems to run slow, making the game last longer than 60 seconds.

This may not be a glitch, but it seems that if you shoot 3 or more papers of any grade, even good grades, you will earn extra credit. This seems counterintuitive, but can be used to your advantage.
