"He had blood all down his face...from her just bashing him with the rock," the witness confessed.

Will there be peace on earth anytime in the near future? Must parents have to supervise their children every moment of the day? These questions come to mind after reading about a 66-year-old woman who was attacked by a young man at Kennedy Park on Sunday.

The skinny man with "dark hair and dark eyes" attempted to force the woman into his car, but the woman used a rock to conquer her predator. When she was done with him, he had blood all over his face.

Apparently someone had informed the victim of a "suspicious car in the area." That was when the woman grabbed a rock for defense. Ironically, she ended up being assaulted. The criminal must have been shocked when the 66-year-old woman kicked and battered him with the rock.

Description of the escaped suspect:

  1. "He is in his 30s
  2. He's around 5'9" with a thin build with dark hair and dark eyes
  3. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans
  4. He drove away in a gray or tan Honda Accord or Civic
  5. He likely has cuts and bruises on his face
How should families react to this incident?
  • Parents must remind their children not to communicate with strangers
  • Parents should warn their children not to enter a stranger's car
  • Parents can supply their children with pepper spray
  • Children should always tell their parents where they are going
  • Children should be aware of their surroundings
  • Parents should educate their children on how to be assertive when they are approached by a stranger
  • Families must teach children about dialing 911 during an emergency
  • Parents should teach children to scream, "HELP! I DON'T KNOW THIS PERSON! I'M BEING KIDNAPPED!"

"85% to 90% of the 876,213 persons reported missing to America's law enforcement agencies in 2000 were juveniles", so families must teach each other how to be safe. The world will not become free of insane individuals, but families can prepare themselves in order to prevent potential assaults.
