Josue Rodriguez
How many children feel motivated to return to the school routine? Tasks, restrictions, homework, assignments, responsibility, prohibitions, are aspects of back to school that they don't like to face. If we want a better school year the best option is to work together. If parents, students and teachers work together, there will be a better school year for sure. Here I am going to share some tips to restart the school routine.

1. Communication: Is very important to have the correct information, at the correct time. If you talk to your child and his teacher frequently you can have the information on time to make some adjustments, and improve the student's academic achievement.

2. Resources: To get a better school year you need some good resources on hand to complete homework and assignments. Get all the stuff a children need and there will be no excuses of not completing the task assigned.

3. Time: Children need quality time to complete homework without distractions. Sometimes parents and students have so many things to do, and are so busy that there is no time for homework at all. The after school time is spent more at the gym, sports, video games, cell phone, music classes, valet classes, shopping, supermarket, and other activities.

4. Sleep: Sleep time is very important. Most children play video games and talk with best friends at the cell phone for hours late at night. Performance in school may be affected severely if not corrected on time.

5. Food: Make a gradual change from junk food to healthy food. Today you can find good alternatives to junk food that taste great. Nutrition plays an important role in education. Try to give them the best food you can afford.

6. School Change: Parents sometimes remove children from school because of some teacher they don't like or problems with the administration. Parents should avoid making drastic changes, is better to give example of good communication and cordial dialogue to solve the problem.

7. Spend time together: Want a better school year? Get to know your children, spend time with them, and establish trust. Let them talk, and explain how they feel about school. Don't talk too much just listen, don't interrupt. If your children have problems they are going to talk with you if you listen patiently. This is essential to help a student have a better school year.
