I like to cleanse my liver. It helps me get rid of that sluggish feeling I get after eating so many rich foods during the holiday. I do this 7 day cleanse every January and then again in June when many fruits and vegetables are available.
Daily-The following need to be done on all 7 days.
Carrot Salad: 1 c. finely shredded carrots or carrot pulp from juicer. 1 tbl extra virgin olive oil, 1 tbl lemon juice, 1 tsp ground flax seed. A dash of cinnamon tastes good mixed in.
Vegetable Puree: 2-3 stalks chopped celery, 2-3 c. each chopped zucchini and green beans, 1-3 tbls chopped parsley, 1 tbl minced garlic, ginger cayenne, vegetables spices to taste.
Steam all the vegetables and puree until smooth in a blender. Add all spices and stir. Eat 1-2 c. of this soup every day.
Daily Juice: Juice 1 small beet, 1 bunch endive, 1 medium apple, 1 lemon, 2 stalks celery or 1 cucumber. This should be 3-8 ounces of juice.
I take my multivitamin, colloidal minerals, and sublingual B every day too.
At least 2 times in the 7 day cleanse I use an organic coffee enema. This helps release toxins from the liver stimulating bile flow. If you happen to get nauseas after the enema, be sure to drink plenty of mint tea. That will soothe the stomach. This is how I prepare the enema. 3 heaping tbls of organically grown coffee to 1 quart of purified water. Boil for 3 minutes then simmer for 17 minutes with the lid on. Strain the grounds and let cool. After administering the enema, hold the fluid for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to drink at least 8 oz of celery and carrot juice after the enema to replenish any minerals lost.
Milk Thistle enhances liver function and should be taken after every meal. Lay off the meat, dairy, sugar, white flour, alcohol, tobacco, any junk food and sweets for 7 days. Your body didn't get to this point over night so give yourself just 7 days for this cleanse. You will feel so much better. Be sure to drink plenty of water. I drink 8 oz of water upon rising and before every meal. Your body will be removing toxins and they need to be flushed out. Also, talk with your doctor before you start this cleanse especially if you are on any medication. Good luck to you.
