Whether you are a first time mom, a mom of six onto her lucky seventh child, a stay at home mom, or a working mom, you need to find time to relax during your pregnancy. These easy tips to relax during pregnancy will not only help you better handle the days ahead, but will help you be at your best for your family now. Plus, a relaxed mom makes for a relaxed baby.

Pregnancy Tip 1: Enjoy a long shower or bath to relax

Not every mom has the time for a luxurious ninety minute soak. If you are a busy mom, a long shower may be your only respite amidst screaming kids, a screaming boss, or just your screaming hormones!

Pregnancy Tip 2: Aromatherapy for mom

Candles, incense, or even fresh flowers can heighten your senses and bring you a sense of calm. Vanilla and lavender are especially calming.

Pregnancy Tip 3: Mom, learn to lounge

Find your most comfortable bathrobe or silky sleepwear. Of course mom, you may have to squeeze yourself into it, or find that your can no longer tighten your bathrobe sash because of a bulging belly, but enjoy the soft fabric against your skin and relax.

Pregnancy Tip 4: Lie down in a dark room and listen to music

Prop yourself up in your bedroom (or office!), dim the lights, and listen to some soothing classical music, ambient music, nature sounds, smooth jazz, hymns, or any other type of music that can relax you. An added bonus? Your baby might be listening, too!

Pregnancy Tip 5: Enjoy some fresh fruit and yogurt

Awaken your taste buds, if morning sickness allows it, and enjoy a tray of delicious fresh fruit. Savor each and every bite, and engage in the smells of the fresh fruit as you bite into each juicy morsel. You will enjoy the treat, and your baby will enjoy the nutrients and vitamins that the fruit provides.

Pregnancy Tip 6: Wash your hair
It may sound simple, but washing your hair is an easy way to feel fresh and beautiful. Let the water splash onto your face and neck, and be sure to use fragrant shampoos and conditioners that will leave you smelling fresh all day. If you can, you might even opt not to blow dry your hair, but instead enjoy the wet coldness of your scalp as your hair dries naturally.

Pregnancy Tip 7: Write to your baby

Begin a journal of your pregnancy experience for your baby. Record every feeling, fear, and hope in the pages of a sketchbook. Draw pictures of what you think your baby will look like. Write love letters and lullabies to your sweet baby. Enjoy this stage of being a mom, when you and your baby are still one, and you are enveloped by the mysteries of motherhood.
