The simplest things or deeds can brighten your day and only takes minutes or even seconds to do from your busy day. Sure, buying that new car brings excitement to your day like opening up your first Christmas gift. Going shopping for those sweet looking sneakers can give you a sense of pleasure. Even spoiling yourself with that TV or computer you've been wanting for awhile takes you down happy lane. But, it really is the small simple things that you can do for someone else that will instantly lift your mood and make you feel good about yourself. The other person can be thankful for your thoughtfulness and the good gesture will lift his or her mood as well. Best of all these small acts of kindness are FREE.

Start doing positive things for others throughout your day and see how it will lift your mood instantly. I've come up with 7 good deeds that you can start out with.

Call

Whether it is a friend or family member it is always a good gesture to call to check up on them even if it is once in awhile. It shows you were thinking about them and you wanted to say hi. Maybe you can share a quick story of what recently happened in your life. What ever it is, they will be glad that you decided to stay in touch.

Compliment someone's appearance

Giving a positive compliment about someone losing weight is a great way to make them feel good about their appearance. Saying something simple about how you like their shirt shows that you would wear something like that or the other person looks nice in that particular outfit.

Driving

Letting someone in your lane on a busy street brings instant gratification especially from the other driver, since they are sick of waiting to get on the street. There could be a lot of traffic and your not really going to get where your going any faster if you just keep the other vehicle waiting in the parking lot.

Donate to your favorite charity

Donating to a charity that means something to you and your family can bring a sense of satisfaction when you know that your donation will help someone that is sick or needy. It can include an illness that you have knowledge of because you know what kind of suffering is involved. Maybe a friend or close relative has been dealing with the illness. Donating clothes, blankets and toys that don't fit anymore or are not used regularly are excellent items to give to people in need.

Hold the door

Something very simple that takes a second or two and your not really going out of your way is holding the door. This is a mood lifter for yourself knowing that your being thoughtful to whoever is behind you entering the mall or convenient store and a positive experience for the other person that happens to be where you are at the same time.

Share

Whether it is a delicious snack or a pack of gum, everyone enjoys sharing. It brings a moment of bonding that two people can be thankful for. Sharing makes friendships and family relationships healthier. Besides, who wouldn't want to borrow their friend's BMW for the weekend?

Pray

Praying for someone who could use it really shows that you are a caring individual. Whether your prayer works for them or not, it makes you feel good to know that you've done your job and the rest is up to the Lord. If your prayer works than you are smothered with gratefulness that lasts a lot longer than a few days.
