Money is not a good idea...most kids blow it on stupid stuff.
Ideas that are long term are the way to go. Things like engraved watch or IRA or stocks. Gifts like money and computers GPS are for the moment gifts. This is a time in the youngster's life when he or she needs to realize that they need to look beyond tomorrow.

Society today is allowing young adults to avoid looking beyond the next level on a computer game. Making decisions, right or wrong, and being accountable for those actions is where adult life begins.... So if you really want your graduate to start thinking, buy them a gift that they can look at and say....what the hell were they thinking when they bought this. Make them think and some day they will appreciate your gift. Don't allow your graduation gift to continue the path of immaturity.
