With the price of watching a movie in a movie theater at a totally ridiculous charge and with dvd businesses, like Netfix, raising their rates, I thought I would find other avenues of getting to watch my favorite movies and shows. Here are the top 7 ways you can watch your favorite movies without going broke!

The #7 way to watch your favorite movies is the more costly of the top 7, but even so it is still considerably cheaper than going to the movie theater. It is buying movies off of your satellite service. With Directv I know it cost around $4.99 with a $1.50 fee. It is still cheaper to splurge on an occasional movie from satellite tv than going to the movies.

#6 is the matinee movie. With this option you still get to watch a movie at the theater but it is usually a lot less expensive.

#5 is buy movies from eBay or Amazon. You can find just about any movie you want for a pretty reasonable price. You can also check out Half.com which is an extension of eBay.com.

#4 is to use your Tivo or DVR. You can record multiple shows at one time. Of course this may not include new releases but there are several channels that play great tv movies and even real movies. You can record them to watch at a later date.

#3 is Hulu.com. I came upon this website a few months ago when I was trying to find a website where I could watch my soap operas. It is free so that makes it even better. I think you can pay a fee for Hulu Plus. I am not sure what that pays for, but it may be worth checking into.

The #2 way to watch movies is Redbox. Using Redbox it is only $1.00 per night you have the dvd. Redbox usually has new releases. When you sign up using your email address you will periodically get emails for a free movie rental.

The #1 way to watch your favorite movies is to utilize and take advantage of your local library. Most libraries are free to join and you can check out movies for free. You would be surprised of the many choices and selections of movies you will find.
