7 Minute Feng Shui for Good Luck and Happiness

Feng Shui has been used in China for thousands of years to bring luck, good health, prosperity, and love to those who practice it. In the simplest of terms, Feng Shui is the art of placement of items to remedy problem areas in your home or work space. Feng Shui uses the ideas of Chi, or the movement of life and circulation and the Five Elements; fire, earth, water, wood, and metal to bring luck, good health, prosperity, and love into one's life.

Although practiced in China for thousands of years, in the West Feng Shui has only been known to most of us for just a decade or two. In fact, I'd never heard of Feng Shui until a friend of mine in London mentioned a few years back that she had her "Feng Shui man" in recently. She was looking for love in her personal life and success in her professional life and used the art of Feng Shui to be proactive in those endeavors rather than waiting for the things she desired to come to her.

While there are different school of thoughts on how Feng Shui should be implemented, there are many commonalities within the different variations of Feng Shui and it's some of those tips that I offer here. You can use these easy to implement Feng Shui practices to bring good luck and happiness into your life.

Clear the hallways in your home of clutter
Fast moving energy, of Chi, can become stuck or slowed in hallways that are blocked with clutter. Remove all clutter from your hallways to allow the Chi to flow throughout your home.

Get rid of old magazines
Getting rid of old magazines not only will help de-clutter your home, it will also remove links to the past that stop new, fresh energy from coming into your life.

Have nine pictures, nine candles, or some other representation of nine in your living room
In Feng Shui, the number nine represents fulfillment. To attract fulfillment into your life, use nine similar items in your living room. This can be nine candles placed throughout or nine pictures of friends and family in nine separate frames.

Use ceiling fans
Chi can get stuck in the nooks and crannies in your home. Using ceiling fans occasionally will help to circulate any Chi that may be "stuck" somewhere in a room.

Use representations to attract good luck and happiness
Create a display on a shelf that includes items that represent what you want. For example, if you want to travel somewhere, put up pictures or items from that place to which you want to travel.

Return items that you've borrowed from friends and family
Things that belong to someone else retain the energy of their owner. By returning the item, you will be removing the items owner's energy from your home and opening your home up to receiving your own energy.

Plant yellow flowers near your home's entrance
The golden yellow sun emits warm rays and in China the sun, and the color yellow, represent spirituality and intelligence. Use yellow plants near to home's entrance to give a warm impression and attract new people into you life who are spiritual and/or intelligence.
