In the City of Rancho Cucamonga, three prominent Thai restaurants exist: Thai Diamond BBQ, Thai T, and Thai Satay. All serve exceptional food and pretty much share similar pricing, however, the Thai Restaurant that appears to give the best value and overall experience at every visit is "Thai T."

I have been going to Thai T for the past 2 years. Having lived in Rancho Cucamonga for more than 20 years, I also frequent at Thai Diamond BBQ and Thai Satay. When given a choice, my personal favorite is Thai T. Below are the 7 top reasons that keep me coming back to Thai T.

Back to Thai T Reason #1: The Service
Service at Thai T is always friendly and prompt. The waitresses are always willing to take your order, give you extra napkins, and offer you a refill on their drinks. They do not frown upon or show any distaste for the idiosyncrasies of having children at their restaurant. They also deliver within a radius around their restaurant which is an added benefit when you are at the office and are unable to drive to the restaurant itself.

Back to Thai T Reason #2: The "Look" of the Food
Their food presentation is very "foo-foo" or "culinary." Arranged around the four corners, my food was served on a very sheik square, white platter. The soup was carefully positioned on the top left corner in a separate white bowl; in the top right corner, the triangular fried wontons were angled in a 45 degree position on top of each other; the steamed white rice was molded into the shape of a star in the bottom left corner; and the yellow curry was also in a separate white bowl in the right bottom corner of the platter. It may not be 'iron chef' quality, but it was "foo-foo" enough for the price.

Back to Thai T Reason #3: The Affordability
The food in itself is tasty and served in portions that are larger than a single serving. Today I had the Beef Satay, Sweet Cucumber Salad, Yellow Curry and Chicken Fried Rice which were all delicious. My husband ordered Teriyaki Beef sprinkled with Sesame Seeds. Because of the larger portions, I was able to split the Satay Sticks and Fried Rice between three children (six and 2 eight year olds), share my Curry with my husband plus get a big taste of my husbands Teriyaki Beef. In addition, entrees included white rice, soup and two fried triangular wontons. We were able to feed my nephew, my two daughters and ourselves (2 adults) for only $34.72. The final bill also includes a total of 8 signature beverages, the cold Thai tea with milk.

Back to Thai T Reason #4: The Ambiance
Tucked away in the corner of the restaurant is an area that you can sit on the wooden floor atop large beige pillows and eat at tables close to the ground. It is surrounded with bird of paradise arrangements and small yellow flowers. You can actually request to eat in that 'sanctuary.' Above that area, you will notice strings of white globe lights on the ceiling. Throughout the restaurant, you'll discover modern Asian/Thai touches in their decor. In fact, there is a soothing water feature near their cash register that showcases the Thai T logo on the wall.

Back to Thai T Reason #5: The Aquariums
Along the divider wall found at the center of the main room of the restaurant are 4-5 large glass vases; in each of the vases is one colorful betta fish. What a beautiful way to camoflouge an otherwise unsightly half wall. In the back of the restaurant, one can find an enormous rectangular aquarium filled with a variety of fish. The transparent fish or ghost knife fish kept the children mesmerized as they wondered why it looked like 'technology.' The aquariums helped the children stay occupied while waiting for the food to get cooked and also while the adults finished eating.

Back to Thai T Reason #6: The Salt & Pepper Shakers
The adorable salt & pepper shakers are a definite ice breaker and conversation starter. The simplicity of their shape makes it a joy to look at as they sit quietly on the table in an engaging embrace.

Back to Thai T Reason #7: The Free Refills
Yes, they do offer unlimited free refills on the Thai Tea beverage. A regularly priced thai tea can be at least $2/glass. During our last vist, our family consumed a total of 8 glasses of thai tea which equates to $16 on drinks alone! Because we love a bargain, their special on thai tea is the top reason we keep coming back.

Give Thai T a chance one afternoon for lunch or even for dinner when you want a break from cooking. Once you visit, you will definitely be hooked.

We eat there at least 2 times a week! We love it and they offer coupons in the clipper magazine! After several attempts to eat at other Thai places, we come back to Thai T always..
