7 Steps to Successfully Match Make a Friend

Stephanie Modkins
Want to successfully match make a friend? Good. Several happy unions were the results of a meddling pal. But, before you go to work, consider the following 7 steps. They serve as a pathway for getting two lonely people together.

Step 1: Get permission.
Don't assume your friend wants a hook-up. He may be happy sitting home alone on Saturday nights or just not ready for a new relationship. So, before you act, get the green light. Your inquiry will be a sign of respect.

Step 2: Ask questions.
Find out what your friend likes. Successful matchmakers don't dive in without any information. As a result, create a list of what your friend likes physically, mentally and spiritually. What he says will give you an idea of what he truly desires.

Step 3: Aim to please.
Be smart and use all of what you learned in step #2 to search out the perfect mate. By sticking close to what your friend says he wants you'll increase your chances of finding the girl of his dreams. Otherwise, you might just be wasting both of yours time.

Step 4: Forget yourself.
After you select a candidate, successfully match make your friend by letting go of you. Check your motives and be sure they are pure. For example, some people like to put a wayward sibling together with a responsible friend in order to solve a family problem. This kind of mentality won't serve your friend well and might even ruin your relationship.

Step 5: Do a group date.
Help out your friend by making the first outing a group date. This type of gathering will lighten the stress of meeting someone new. It also gives both parties a chance to mingle with others if they fail to attract.

Step 6: Accept feedback.
People who successfully match make a friend understand this process may take several tries. For this reason, be open to feedback. Let your pal tell you how he really felt about the woman you introduced him to. His words will give you further insight into who he wants as a mate.

Step 7: Offer suggestions.
This step is a delicate one. During step #5, watch first hand how your friend interacts with the opposite sex. Then, on another day, when you're alone, offer him a few suggestions. What you say may be the key to why he's flying solo. He merely needs an honest friend to point out a few of his faux pas.

These 7 steps will help you successfully match make a friend. Use them and do your part in the game of love.
