There are a lot of high quality digital camera but it is expensive that not everyone can afford or willing to pay for. Set your budget first then looking for those digital cameras in your range could save you a lot of time.

Ask yourself what you want to use the camera for. Is this to take pictures of your family, friends or kids? Is this for your professional career? Is it going to be used mostly indoors or outdoors? These are the few common questions that a salesman probably will ask you. Knowing the purpose of your camera can save you and the salesman time.
Tip No.3 - Needs and Desires
You must identify your needs first. You can own a digital cam that is stuffed with lots of cool features. However, is this actually what you need? Choose those features that you need in order to cut down the additional costs. But, do not skimp either. Take a while to test out the available digital cameras in your price range, you will know what to expect with your budget
Tip No.4 - Research
Make sure you do research before purchasing a digital camera. You can either research online at home or hanging around at few shops to determine which shop will give you the best deal.
Tip No. 5 - Memory Cards
Identify how much capacity you need for a memory card. Normally, the memory card comes with the camera itself. Nowadays, memory cards are cheap. Get one within your budget but make sure it is enough for you.
Tip No.6 - Pixels
Pixels are normally referred to the camera's resolution. Higher pixels mean better resolution which will provide you a better picture with much more detail on it. Rule of thumb, compare different models with different pixels once you are at the store. Choose the best quality picture taken base on your budget.
Tip No. 7 - Ease of Use
Choose a digital camera that you easily understand how to operate it. Buying a digital camera is to make our life easier. Do not buy one that you need 5 minutes to figure out how it works.
