You are going to learn how you can make fire starters for camping. It is always easier to build the fire if you have some materials that will help the process along. You are going to learn some tips that I have come up with that will make your next camping experience even more enjoyable by taking some of the work out of it. I have always said to be prepared when you are planning any kind of camping trip, and this is one of the easiest and most helpful things that you can do.

There are many ways to make homemade fire starters for camping, so I am going to show you a few that I have come up with that work really great. Below you will find the best fire starters for camping that you can make right in your own home before you head out on your next camping trip.

One. Use Pine cones Covered with Wax

Two. Place charcoal in egg cartons and tie the carton shut. When you are ready to start the fire, simply light the egg carton.

Three. Take 100% cotton balls and rub them entirely with Vaseline. Store them in a zip lock bag until you are ready to use. These are really handy in my experience.

Four. This is a simple one, but you can use lint from your dryer as a great fire starter. This does work quiet well, but make sure that it does not get damp at all.

Five. You can cut milk cartons into strips and cover them with wax. You can use these as kindling for your fire. This is great when you don't have much small dry wood in the area.

Six. You can soak a piece of charcoal in lighter fluid and coat the entire thing with wax. The wax will water proof the charcoal and also allow it to burn slowly instead of one big ball of fire.

Seven. A great tip is to waterproof your matches is to coat them with melted wax. This will keep them dry and save from the elements. It will also allow them to burn longer when lit.

These are just some of the great tips on fire starts for camping. If you use these tips it will help you and your families have a great time on your next camping trip. Even the smallest thing can ruin a great time, and the fire is the problem sometimes.

The most important thing to remember when making a fire is to be careful. Make sure that you are far enough away from anything flammable and that you have no chance of setting the nearby hills on fire. I always make a fire pit when I am camping by arranging rocks around the fire. This will keep any hot coals inside of the fire and have less change to pop out at you.
