70 Year Old Beaten in Road Rage. Iowa

May is "Older Iowans Month"

Brandon J. Poulson, 22, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 70 year old man in a fit of road rage. Police say that Brandon Poulson admitted to hitting the elderly man several times in the face. Why? Because the man was driving too slowly!

The older Iowa man was driving with his wife on a gravel road. Poulson drove up behind them and was aggravated that the couple was driving so slow. The older couple pulled to the side of the road and instead of Brandon passing them and going on about his business, he stopped. The elderly gentleman got out of his vehicle and instead of talking with him, Brandon Poulson took it upon himself to beat the senior man about the head and face. The man's face required stitches and is swollen and bruised.

What possesses a 22 year old fella to beat an elderly man for driving too slow? I don't know. Maybe the same thing that made the same Brandon Poulson throw a dead cat through a McDonald's drive through window. It is totally unacceptable and on a lot of levels may well be a huge red flag to the justice department. How many times have we read stories about people who hurt animals and progress up the chain to hurting people? This time Brandon Poulson pummeled a 70 year old man, thankfully the beating did not kill or cripple the man. Who's next to cross the Brandon Poulson path? Will they be so lucky? Should the justice system take a hard look at Brandon Poulson's behavior and start treating him accordingly?

Poulson is out on $10,000 bond now. Hopefully someone has taken his keys away. I mean that. Think this can't happen to you? Last weekend, we were driving to my mom's who lives in the country. We too were on a gravel road. We don't drive real fast on gravel as it makes paint chips and we had our "good" truck. That didn't stop the young guy, driving an older truck, from coming up behind us, cuss at us and give us the finger. Where the heck was he going that required such actions? It put me in the mind of how this couple must have felt.

You can see Brandon Poulson deny that he beat the 70 year old man here. Brandon Poulson should be ashamed and embarrassed because of his actions. Yet he appears not to be. That's scary. People like Poulson will eventually get whats coming to them. Sometimes by the law and sometimes by picking on someone just a little bit bigger and tougher than they are. Meanwhile, road rage is still alive and well in Iowa. Iowa is celebrating Older Iowans in the month of May. I guess Brandon Poulson missed that memo.

OMG, is there no humanity left in this world? What people do to each other these days makes me want to puke.

To belabor the obvious, Poulson is a pathetic human being.

I can't believe the cowardice of someone beating up an elderly man. Shame on him.
