A free Slurpee at 7-Eleven? Free chicken at Chick-fil-A? Both of these fantastic food freebies are on the horizon in the month of July. Though it is now trendy to offer food freebies, both 7-Eleven and Chick-fil-A have been offering freebies for several years. Slurpee fans know that 7/11 is free Slurpee Day, which entitles them to a free 7.11 oz Slurpee. Chick-fil-A fans willing to do a little work for their freebie will have fun dressing up like a cow. Below I outline some information about both upcoming food freebies.

Free Slurpee at participating 7-Eleven stores on 7/11

On July 11, Slurpee fans of all ages should race to the nearest participating 7-Eleven store to grab their free 7.11 oz Slurpee. I love Slurpees and getting a free Slurpee in the middle of summer is a fantastic treat. However, I have found that not all 7-Eleven stores participate in the free Slurpee giveaway on 7/11. Save yourself some grief and call ahead to ensure that your local 7-Eleven is participating to avoid frowns from your children. Participating 7-Eleven stores will have special 7.11 oz cups at their stores just for this event; however, they may not necessarily be available at the Slurpee machine. In the past, I have had to ask for the special cup, which was given to me at the register.

Free chicken at Chick-fil-A on 7/10

Would you love a free chicken combo meal? Are you willing to lose a little dignity and decorum to do so? Each year Chick-fil-A celebrates Cow Appreciation Day, July 10, by offering anyone fully dressed as a cow a free chicken combo meal, which means either a free breakfast, lunch, or dinner for you if you are willing to go into a Chick-fil-A regaled in cow attire. If you do not have a cow costume, Chick-fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day website offers some handy downloads to help. The nce thing about the Chick-fil-A free chicken promotion is that all of Chick-fil-A's 1300 plus stores participate in this freebie. If you think you will be the only one dressed like a cow, you are dead wrong. Having walked into a Chick-fil-A on a Cow Appreciation Day in the past, I can assure you that adults do dress up to get free chicken. Chick-fil-A is also promoting a children's photo contest, so dress those kids up and take them to Chick-fil-A on July 10 for a free meal, snap a picture and enter the contest. Details about the kids' contest can be found in the link below.

I had no idea! I haven't had a slurpee in a long time. Sounds like this is my opportunity. :-)

The second question in Chick-fil-a's FAQ states you can still get a free entree even if you're only partially dressed as a cow; you just won't get the fries & drink. My sister and I went in white shirts with black paper spots taped on last year and had no problem getting our freebies.

Cool. So did you dress up as cow? Or were you just there to mock everyone else?
