8 Christmas Stocking Stuffer Ideas for 4-Year-Old Boys

Lyn McCallister
If you are looking for some great Christmas stocking stuffer ideas for 4-year-old boys, then this list is for you! My preschooler gave his enthusiastic approval for all these items. For an extra special Christmas surprise, purchase multiple stocking stuffers and help Santa wrap them before placing them in the stocking.

Christmas Stocking Stuffer Ideas for 4-Year-Old Boys

1. Hot Wheels. These classic toy race cars are a traditional favorite. Young boys love to add to their collection so add a couple new cars to your son's Christmas stocking this year. Starting at about $1.00 per Hot Wheels car, these toys will engage your little guy in imaginative play for hours. Plus, dads like the cars too! Available at major retailers.

2. Wham-O Mini Frisbee. Keep your son or grandson active by purchasing a pack of mini Frisbees. These mini Frisbees are the perfect size for little 4 year old hands. They can also be used for Frisbee golf. Buy a pack of 6 for $7.99 from BrandsonSale.com.

3. Leapster Game. If your child has the hand-held Leapster learning game system by Leapfrog, then add a new game to his collection. The Leapfrog website has over 40 games available for this 4 year old friendly system. Games retail for $24.99 although you can find them on sale sometimes at Target or Wal-Mart.

4. Mini Holiday Themed Coloring Books. 4 year old boys love to color! Purchase these cute 3.5 inch, 20 page mini coloring books from Oriental Trading for $4.99 per dozen. Each holiday coloring book also comes with a set of 4 crayons.

5. Treasure Box. This is a stocking stuffer that you can make for your 4 year old boy. Purchase a small, plain box from a craft store. Write your child's name on the box top and the words "treasure box." Decorate the box with stickers, glitter, markers, or stamps. Since children love to collect little treasures, this box will become a favorite item quickly!

6. Dog Toy Replicas. Many preschool aged boys love dogs. Buy your son or grandson his favorite dog breed from Animal World. Starting from about $1.99 each, these stocking stuffers are fun and economical so you can buy more than one.

7. Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera. If your little guy constantly wants to take pictures with your camera, get him this sturdy, plastic camera for his own. Although the image resolution is not great (1.3 mega pixels), the camera is designed for little hands with big buttons, dual hand grips, and a preview screen. Store up to 500 pictures in memory and download to a computer via USB connection. Available in blue or pink and retails for about $50.

8. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Go Racers Sets. Available from Disneystore.com, these fun Go Racers sets include 2 character cars and 1 street sign. Choose from a Mickey and Donald set, Mickey and Goofy set, or a Pluto and Goofy set. Pull the cars back and let them go on a flat surface. Price: $12.95 per set.
