Great Drinks for Christmas

1. Rum and Ginger

This is a very simple cocktail.

a. Fill a glass with ice.

b. Add 2 slugs of good quality rum.

c. Fill the rest of the glass with ginger beer.

d. Squeeze in 2 pieces of fresh lime.

2. Festive Rum Punch

a. Again, fill a glass with ice.

b. Add 1 dash of angostura bitters.

c. Add 1 part lime juice, freshly squeezed.

d. Add 2 parts grenadine.

e. Add 3 parts rum (dark).

f. Add 4 parts soda water.

g. Finally take some nutmeg and grate a little bit on top.

3. Christmas Pud Cocktail

a. Combine 1 oz of Drambuie with 1 oz of Southern Comfort and 5 oz Beer (Guinness).

b. Serve the cocktail in red wine glasses.

4. Ye Olde Fashioned Cocktail

a. Take an old fashioned glass.

b. Add a small shot of sugar syrup.

c. Then add 2 dashes of Angostura.

d. Stir for a few seconds.

e. Add 2 ice cubes.

f. Add a small shot of bourbon.

g. Stir for a few seconds.

h. Add 2 more ice cubes.

g. Stir again.

i. Add 1 more small shot of bourbon.

j. Stir yet again.

k. Add 2 more ice cubes.

l. And finally, stir a little more.

5. Peach and Vodka Deluxe

a. Take a tall glass.

b. Fill with ice cubes.

c. Add 25 ml of vodka (good quality).

d. Add 75 ml of peach schnapps.

e. Fill to top with cranberry juice.

f. Add a squeeze of lime.

6. Pear and Cranberry Fresh

a. Mix 2 pints of sparkling water with 2 pints of cranberry juice.

b. Add 12 tablespoons of pear concentrate.

c. Chill for at least an hour.

d. Before serving the cocktail, add 2 diced pears and some leaves of fresh mint to garnish.

7. Ginger Ale Snap

Another very simple one.

a. Mix 4 oz of Advocaat liqueur with 6 oz of ginger ale.

b. Pour over a tall glass filled with ice.

8. Irish Xpress

a. Take a shaker and half fill with ice.

b. Add a shot of bourbon.

c. Add a shot of Grand Marnier.

d. Add a small shot of red vermouth.

e. Add a small shot of dry vermouth.

f. Add 4 dashes of Angostura bitters.

g. Stir well.

h. Strain into a glass.

i. Garnish the cocktail with a cherry, and maybe a twist of orange.
