8 Foreign Movies that Should Be Video Games

Lee Andrew Henderson
Most video games based on movies are released along with the movie and the quality suffers because the game is rushed to meet the movie's deadline. Instead of developing video games to be released with a new movie there should be more studios making adaptations of movies that have already been released and if those video game studios want to release a story that gamers have not already seen on the big screen then they can always adapt foreign movies that haven't been seen by nearly as many people.

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: OSS 117
The OSS 117 movies are spy parody movies similar to the American Austin Powers movies except OSS 117 is a little bit more action and a little less silliness. The OSS 117 movies would make great spy video games like Goldeneye with some more humorous elements added.

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: District B13
District B13 is an action movie about a district that is so overrun with violence and crime that the government built a wall around the district to keep it confined. District B13 helped to popularize the parkour craze and that could be a great addition to an action video game.

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: Seven Samurai
Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai popularized movies that had a group of heroes instead of a singular titular character. The Seven Samurai could be a great Japanese samurai video game with several characters to choose from.

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: Kung Fu Hustle
Stephen Chow's Kung Fu Hustle is half kung fu movie and half comedy. There is great Kung Fu action but also some funny, even cartoonish, laugh out loud moments. A Kung Fu Hustle video game would be as side-splitting as the Lego games except much better gameplay.

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: Nikita
Nikita is about a criminal that is getting the death penalty. Her execution is faked and instead the French intelligence takes her in and hire her as an assassination. Nikita would be a great stealth game in the vein of Metal Gear Solid.

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: Ninjas vs. Aliens
You have to love those crazy Japanese for very straightforward movie titles. The upcoming Ninjas vs. Aliens movie would be a great video game adaptation. It has ninjas. It has aliens. What more do you want?

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: Dead Snow
Dead Snow takes the two deadliest types of villains in movie history and combines them into one, Nazis and zombies. The only thing that would be better than watching Nazi zombies chase the victims through the snowy forest would be the ability to pick up a controller and lay waste to the Nazi zombies.

8 Foreign Movies to Adapt to Video Games: Battle Royale
Battle Royale is a movie about a group of high school kids that are kidnapped and put on an island. The children are each given one weapon and the winner is simply the one student that survives. Battle Royale would make a great video game because the gamer has lots of players to choose from and there would be a lot of strategy depending on which student you decide to kill first. Do you kill the weakest first? Do you kill the strongest first? Or do you kill the student that has the weapon that you want?
