#8- Harold and Kumar go to White Castle (2004)
Harold and Kumar two best friends set out to get White Castle, after getting high of course. They go through some crazy things to get what they're craving. They end up getting their car stolen by Neil Patrick Harris, getting put in jail by a racist officer and meeting some "extreme" people. This movie is great. Lots of fun and worth seeing again and again!
#7- Super High Me (2007)
This documentary, influenced by super size me, was made by Doug Benson. After 30 days of no marijuana use Doug endures 30 days of non stop medicinal marijuana use. He goes through tests to determine the effects of marijuana, if any to himself. The movie also takes a look at the controversy of medicinal marijuana. Great documentary! Highly recommend.
#6- Friday (1995)
Who hasn't seen this movie? Smoky and Craig are two best friends who are potheads. This movie is about their Friday. Unknowingly Craig smokes all of a dealers weed with Smoky and have to try and make the money owed for the weed. This along with other crazy encounters like crack heads and gang bangers is what makes up their Friday. This is a must see. It's a classic!
#5- The Union: The Business to Getting High (2007)
This documentary is a must see if you support legalizing marijuana. This film, by Adam Scorgie, takes a look at the $7 billion marijuana industry in British Columbia, Canada. While focusing on Canada it also explains the country's drug trafficking ties with the US. It exposes the true facts about marijuana and its many uses of the plant including bio diesel, clothing, rope, and medicine. He interviews professors, politicians, actors, and many other people about their views of this very controversial plant. You must see this movie. The best documentary about marijuana I've ever seen.
#4- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)
This movie, that's based on Hunter S. Thompson's novel, was brilliant. It's about Hunter and his lawyer taking a trip to Las Vegas. They're suppose to be covering a motorcycle race but instead look for the "American Dream." To help them in their journey they've packed mescaline, acid, weed, and lots of other things in their red convertible. This movie is very trippy! Johnny Depp is great in this movie portraying Hunter.
#3- Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke (1978)
This movie is over 30 years old but still making people laugh their butt off. This is the first feature length film by the duo. The two friends end up getting deported to Tijuana, Mexico while trying to buy some weed. When trying to get back to the States they unknowingly partake in a drug smuggle across the border. The package they must smuggle? A van made entirely of weed which gets people high from the exhaust. This movie is non stop comedy.
#2- Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
This is another great film by Kevin Smith. The duo Jay and Silent Bob find out about a movie being made in Hollywood that's based on their comic book characters Bluntman and Chronic. After realizing they aren't getting any money from the movie they set out to stop the movie from being made. They encounter a van of women who use them for their evil plot, steal a monkey, learn the rules of the road, and discover the Internet along the way. The cast is star studded with people like Mark Hamill, Chris Rock, Wes Craven, Carrie Fisher, George Carlin and more. This movie is hilarious.
#1- Half Baked (1998)
I have been enjoying this movie for over 10 years. It's the ultimate pot head movie! After Kenny is put in jail for killing a cop's horse his friends try to raise his $1 million bail. Scarface, Brian, and Thurgood concoct a plan to steal medicinal marijuana from Thurgood's employer. They end up being the biggest drug dealers and igniting a feud between a local dealer, Sampson Simpson. Everyone including the cops and Scarface's dog smoke pot. This movie will have you laughing outloud from beginning to end!
