Getting children to eat lunch can be difficult. In fact, lunch can be a negative tear-filled experience. This is why kid friendly lunches are so important. I interviewed my own picky eater and challenged her to come up with recipes that would make kids happy without being completely nutritionally void. The following lunches will get your kids eating without any begging on your part. In fact, you may want to make some of these meals for dinner as well. These hot lunches are perfect for serving kids at home, and if they have access to a microwave, some of them will work for school as well.

Cocktail Meatballs: Make these cocktail meatballs in a matter of minutes or cook them ahead of time in your Crockpot. Either way, your kids will love the tangy-sweet lunchtime treat.

Macaroni and Cheese:
Macaroni and cheese is a childhood favorite that few kids can turn away. You can try making it with bow tie pasta or other neat shapes to ensure they will eat it.

Beans and franks make a great hot lunch that can be cooked up in a matter of minutes. That makes if friendly for both mom and kids. Cut up a couple of hot dogs and cook it in one can of beans with a 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce to make it extra tangy.

Easy Chicken Mozzarella Sandwich: Chicken is less intimidating when in a sandwich form. To make it more kid friendly, cut the sandwich into kid size servings.

Quick Cheese Sticks: You don't have to take them to a restaurant to get quality cheese sticks. Try this recipe to serve up cheese sticks that your children will beg for.

Hamburger Sliders: Make kids sized hamburgers that are just the right size for small hands and miniature appetites. Kids love them and will surely ask for more.

English Muffin Pizzas:
You can get kids involved in making their own lunch with these English muffin pizzas that are the right size for children.
