8 Signs Your Man is a Keeper

Kristina Jones
So you have been dating a man for a few months. You have discovered you have many things in common with each other. As things begin to become more serious between in the relationship, you might wonder if he is actually the "one." Now, nobody can tell you if someone is the person you are to share the rest of your life with, but there are things you need to know before you make the decision. Here are 8 signs that your man is a keeper.

Sign that He's a Keeper # 1 - He Acknowledges that You Are Always Right

If your man acknowledges that you are always right, he is a definite keeper. This does not mean he is afraid to stand up to you or he is a pushover, it simply means he will do anything to make you happy. You might equate this as being a nice guy, but is that not what you want anyways? If you and your man get into a heated argument about whether or not his tie matches your shoes and he finally concedes that you are right, he is a keeper. He knows he will never win an argument. He will stand up to you to let you know where he stands on the topic.

Sign that He's a Keeper #2 - He Can Cook

There is nothing better that a man can do than cook a nice meal for his lady. I am the first to say, that I do not always feel like cooking everyday out of the week, but it sure is nice to have a man cook every once in a while. It also adds to the romantic chemistry between the two of you. Never pass on a man who offers to cook a nice, delicious meal at home.

Sign that He's a Keeper #3 - He Knows How to Dress

Every woman knows that a man, who can dress, is a man who is looking to impress. If your man knows how to dress, without you interfering, you must keep him. There is nothing worse in the world than having to dress your man and yourself for a night out. If he can coordinate his outfit and look great next to you, keep him!

Sign that He's a Keeper #4 - He Actually Enjoys Cleaning

When a man actually enjoys cleaning, it is like an angel has been sent down to Earth! If your man enjoys cleaning, and by enjoy, I do not mean clean freak, you must keep him. When I was dating my husband, he always enjoyed cleaning and still does to this day. It is such a great feeling to be told to relax and watch him clean the house. So, if your man enjoys cleaning, and does a good job at it, please do yourself a favor and keep him.

Sign that He's a Keeper # 5 - He Is Confident

If you have a confident man, there is no reason you should give him the boot. If your man is confident enough that he does not get upset if you mention a celebrity is good looking or sexy, he is a good man. If your man can understand that you can "see and not touch" another man, he is a definite keeper. Even to this day, my husband and I have such a great relationship that I can say "Tyrese Gibson is one sexy man" and my husband does not get mad and actually smiles. He knows that I say these things because I am honest and I know he's confident of my love for him.

Sign that He's a Keeper #6 - He is Responsible

It is a must that all men should be responsible, unless mitigating circumstances exist. Most good men know how to keep a job, manage finances, and basically stay out of trouble. If your man can do this without your help, you have found a great man. If you can trust him with your dog for a weekend while you are out of town with your girlfriends, by all means keep him!

Sign that He's a Keeper #7 - He Enjoys You

Every woman needs a man who actually enjoys your presence. If your man only requests you to sit in the same room with him while he reads or finishes work, just because you brighten his day is a good sign that he's a definite keeper. If he simply lights up the moment he sees you or hears your voice, he truly enjoys you as a person and as a mate. This is truly one of the best things you can ever have in a relationship.

Sign that He's a Keeper #8 - He Has a Solid Relationship with His Family

Finding a man who has a great relationship with his family is priceless. A man who has a great relationship with his family is a man who has great family values. His relationship with his family can clue you into what family life would be like with him in the future. Of course there are exceptions. Some may have been away from their family because of foster care or other circumstances, but as long as they have solid relationships with friends, he is a definite keeper.

I really don't agree with the cooking and dressing parts, those are just nice to have. If you keep a man simply because he can cook, you are in a world of trouble.

Mine is a definite keeper also - thank you for the affirmation.

correction - the guy who doesn't give in and say you are right about the tie and still holds he is correct but changes it anyway because he wants you to be happy is the keeper.

This is the best article I have seen written on this subject. Then again I like cooking and my exs usually were horrific at housework!

Some of these I don't agree with - for example, I would HATE a guy who always says I am right! But great article.
