Tip 2:
Where do you want to listen? The radio's are designed for home, office, walking around, or internet only. Subscription prices stay the same, but the radio prices differ.
Tip 3:
The first place you should go to visit is XM Radio's homepage. There you will find various options, etc...to fit your needs. Radio receivers on this site range from $29.99 to $279.99. The site is XMRadio.com
Tip 4:
Look for packages which include your subscription plan plus the receiver. Different sites rotate different rebates around. Currently, the XM Radio home site is offering discounts only on receivers. Complete packages can also be found at XM-Radio-Satellite.com
Tip 5:
Your reception is partly dependant on your receiver and partly dependent on your location. You must check that your location is able to connect to the satellite. Reception is much like High Definition Television -- it is crystal clear when you have it, but if you do not have it you get no sound at all. A more expensive receiver typically results in a better quality antennar

If you want to listen at work over the Internet, make sure you company's Human Resources and Security Policy allow it. Oftentimes, streaming audio from radio sites is blocked by the technology groups - so check before you subscribe.
Tip 7:
If you want to have professional vehicle nstallation, it pays to shop around. Internet prices range from 64 dollars at XM-Radio-Satellite to 99 dollars at Walmart. Best Buy and your local electronics stores also will offer professional installation.
Tip 8:
Finally, it all comes down to it, the quality of your audio is more dependant on your speakers than any other component once you go digitial. So if you can receive with a cheap receiver and it has all the features you want you are better off spending the extra money on good speakers.
