Here are eight great ways to dress up your hair, all for under ten dollars:

1. Headbands are easy to slip on and pull your hair back, and you can get more than one for under ten dollars. Get a retro look with a gold SO® Triple-Band Headband available at Kohl's for $4 dollars. With your hair pulled back you can use more dramatic makeup, perhaps putting dark eyeliner on your top of your eyelids for a smoky affect and true red lipstain on your lips. Use styling mouse to slick your hair back under the headband and give it a bit of a shine. These triple-band headbands can be pulled forward on the top of the head to give a slight impression of a tiara.

2. Rose clips can dress up any outfit and hot right now are black roses. Put a Small Black Rose Hair Clip in your hair, available from Torrid for almost eight dollars, and have an elegant feminine look. Clip it near one of your eyes to pull hair aside and highlight your cheekbones to complete the effect.

3. EZ Combs™ Hairstyling Set is a great product being offered at local drugstores to easily dress up your hair in a ponytail, frenchtwist or more for around ten dollars. This is a great idea to manage curly or curled hair. This gives a dramatic effect to your hair so you might want to keep your makeup simple, perhaps only highlighting your eyes or lips to complete the look.

4. A Color glaze, like John Frieda Clear Shine Luminous Color Glaze can be a great way to dress up your hair, multiple uses are in less than ten dollars worth of this product. You will look like you just came out of the salon with newly colored hair with this product. It will also improve texture and intensify the shine of your hair.

5. John Frieda Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Curl Perfecting Spray for five dollars available at such stores as Walmart is a great way to boost your waves into curls-just put it on damp hair and scrunch your hair or put in curlers for perfect spirals. You can spray on your wilting hair to boost curls. This product controls frizzy hair and makes natural curls more manageable.

6. If you have straight hair you want to curl, you can use CONAIR Styling Essentials Large Soft Curlers available at Walgreens which won't hurt your head if you sleep with them on. They are gentle to your hair and create soft ringlets and soft spirals. For almost seven dollars this product comes in a convenient carrying case.

7. If you want to add some volume to your hair instantly, try Put On Pieces Straight Bob Pinup for about eight dollars. Straight, tapered hair on a large hair pin can be added to enhance a pulled back ponytail, especially if you want to sport longer hair for a special occasion.

8. Or at a splash of color in your hair can be a great way to dress up your style with Hi-Lite Long Clip-In Synthetic Hair Extensions for the low price of three dollars.
