80's Stars Shine in Made for TV Christmas Movies

If you're wondering what some of your favorite stars from the 1980's have been doing for the past two decades, you don't have to look much farther than your DVR. 1980's stars like Nancy McKeon, Rob Lowe and Candace Cameron-Bure are all over the TV this holiday season, starring in made for TV Christmas movies on networks like Lifetime and The Hallmark Channel.

Nancy McKeon. You know her best as tomboy Jo Polniaczek from the 1980's series The Facts of Life, but actress Nancy McKeon has kept busy since the hit series ended in 1988. A star of several made for TV movies, McKeon stars as Jane Berry in the 2003 made for TV Christmas movie Comfort and Joy. In Comfort and Joy McKeon plays a self-centered woman whose life changes after she's involved in a car accident on Christmas Eve. Comfort and Joy can be seen on the Lifetime Network.

Neil Patrick Harris. Actor Neil Patrick Harris has been no stranger to TV. Besides his starring role in the series Doogie Howser, MD. Harris has enjoyed a steady acting career since the 1980's. Most recently he stars in the hit series How I Met Your Mother, but the actor also starred in some made for TV holiday fare. in 1998's The Christmas Wish, Harris played a Wall Street trader who returns home for Christmas following the death of his grandfather. A few years later Harris starred in another holiday movie, The Christmas Blessing.

Candace Cameron-Bure. We all loved her as D.J. Tanner on Full House, but Candace Cameron-Bure took a slight break from acting and put family first once she became a mom. In 2008 she was back on TV though, starring in a Hallmark Channel holiday movie called Moonlight and Mistletoe. In this TV movie, Cameron-Bure stars as Holly, a business woman who returns home to help out with her father's struggling business.

Keshia Knight Pullium. There was more to The Cosby Show's Rudy Huxtable than just cuteness and charm. Actress Keshia Knight Pullium is all grown up now (actually she's 30!). In 2004 she starred in Christmas at Water's Edge, a holiday movie about a spoiled college student who has a run-in with an angel who and learns the true meaning of Christmas.

Fred Savage. He may forever be imprinted in our brains as The Wonder Years' Kevin Arnold, but actor Fred Savage did the obligatory Christmas movie stint as well. He stars in Christmas on Division Street (1991) as a boy who befriends a homeless man.

Rob Lowe. 1980's Brat packer Rob Lowe has kept plenty busy over the years (he currently stars as Senator Robert McAllister on the ABC series Brothers & Sisters), but he definitely did his time in the holiday movie genre as well. Lowe has starred in two holiday TV movies. In 2002 he starred in the CBS tearjerker The Christmas Shoes. And in 2005, Lowe starred with Neil Patrick Harris in The Christmas Blessing.

Nice to see some of them are still acting....I think Nancy McKeon is a very underrated actress. And of NPH is awesome in "How I Met Your Mother."

I love Neil Patrick Harris: Don't forget about Harold & Kumar! Will have to keep an eye out for The Christmas Blessing, since it has Rob Lowe, too. :)

I think the role of Sam in West Wing was the best for Rob Lowe. The show lost a lot when he left.
