But if you are a die hard Beatles fan, none of the aforementioned reasons for being jazzed about 9/9/09 (or, if you prefer, 09/09/09 or September 9, 2009 or 9/9/9) is more significant and exciting than the fact that 09/09/09 marks the day that the entire digitally remastered Beatles catalog is being released by Apple, and that "The Beatles: Rock Band" video game is being launched.
It's Beatlemania all over again! And, with the release of "The Beatles: Rock Band," a whole new generation will be introduced to the magic of the Beatles, a legendary rock band in the truest sense of the word. They will be introduced to the crackerjack songwriting and performance skills of the Fab Four - and that is a beautiful thing.
To describe the Beatles as "magic" is not hyperbole; no other band compares to the Beatles in terms of their ability to crank out masterpiece after masterpiece. And every single rock band that followed the Beatles owes them a huge debt of gratitude for bringing rock music to a whole new level of acceptability and artistic expression.
It was truly a magic moment when John Lennon met Paul McCartney in Liverpool back in 1957. What are the odds that these two musical geniuses would both be born in Liverpool and end up meeting? To a Beatles fan, it is nothing less than divine intervention. And I can assure you that with the release of "The Beatles: Rock Band," many members of the latest generation of pop and rock music lovers will come to the same conclusion.
The Beatles' music still holds up, and it will continue to hold up until the end of time.
09/09/09 is a special day indeed.

Good job...
Couldn't they just have spared a generation from suffering the pain of having this over rated boys band forced down their throats?
nice job on this!
Don't over simplify the reason that John referred to the number nine. Go to thegoodguise at wordpress.com for the entire story. It's FREE and your understanding of the Lennon-McCartney duo will be changed forever.
nice change to single-digits :)
The last time we'll see repeating numbers in a date until 01/01/2101?? What about October 10, 2010? November 11, 2011 or December 12, 2012? Just thought I'd throw that out there.
:-}.... and we'll all shine on!
I've never been a Beetles' fan myself. I mean I like their music well enough but I never took became a part of the mania craze. I know; it's simply unthinkable.
