Selling online, perhaps through your website, through an auction website or through an ecommerce site really is an art. Selling online is often harder than selling in a physical shop or outlet. Here are a few tips that should help you sell more online.

1. Under promise and under deliver. Always give customers and clients more than they expect and more than they are paying for. Do this and you will build up a good reputation and a good business.

2. Provide clear, easy to understand guarantees and warrantees. People who buy online want to see that they can get there money back if they are not happy. SO, put all of your guarantees and warrantees on every page of your site.

3. Get testimonials and feedback. Get and use testimonials (with permission) form previous customers. Testimonials reinforce you are a good website or source to but from so get some gleaming ones on your site/selling page now.

4. Be reliable. If you say you will deliver in 5 working days then make it happen. Be reliable with payments, and processing orders to build up a good reputation, as remember that bad word always spreads quicker than good.

5. Comply with all regulations. By this I mean comply with distance selling regulations, privacy regulations, and website accessibility etc etc. Comply as and where you can to build a more efficient selling machine.

6. Add pictures of both you and your staff. People like to see the people behind a hop or website, so add pictures, build and gain trust while building your online sales at the same time.

7. Remember to encrypt. Encryption is necessary so make sure that all payment methods and other information personal information required is encrypted, safe and secure.

8. Remember that the customer is king, so top notch customer service is essential to building and running a site/business that sells and sells well online.

9. Always clearly provide FAQ - Frequently asked questions. These help reassure potential customers and clients, so in your FAQ cover topics you think are important to your customers and target markets, from returns policies, to payment information, to shipping information.
